TV show description:
Comedian Jim Gaffigan plays a weatherman by the same name from Fort Wayne, Indiana. In his hometown, Jim was a well-liked member of the newsroom who even headed up the company’s softball team as coach. But now, he’s left that all behind to take a job as a meteorologist in New York City for the show A.M. New York at WNYD Channel 6.
When he arrives as his new position with a cheese basket for his new colleagues, it does little to impress. The morning show’s sharp and uptight producer, Marsha Bickner (Christine Baranski), her rash assistant Amy Manning (Sara Gilbert), and the vain morning show host, Adrian Spencer (Rocky Carroll), make sure that Midwesterner Jim continues to feel as much like a fish-out-of-water as he is.
Helping Jim to withstand the tractor-pull jokes and insults about his corduroy infused wardrobe are Jim’s overly-helpful assistant, Vince Verbena (Anthony DeSando), and Connie (Mary Birdsong), the countergirl at a nearby deli.
