Who’s the Boss? is back. Recently, the cast of the ABC sitcom reunited and spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the classic ’80s series.
Created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter, the comedy starred Tony Danza as a retired baseball player who is hired as the housekeeper for a Connecticut family. The cast also included Judith Light, Alyssa Milano, Danny Pintauro, and Katherine Helmond. The show ran for eight seasons before ending in 1992.
In the interview, Light said Danza really took responsibility for the kids on set:
Tony really took responsibility. On Wednesday mornings we’d come in, and he’d have read all the newspapers and do current events with the kids. The mensches they are today have a lot to do with that. We were their home away from home.”
Danza added that he’s proud of the sitcom for how Milano and Pintauro turned out:
One of the things I’m most proud of is these two [Milano and Pintauro]. It’s tough! Kids and TV shows — who knows what happens? And we had two of the best.”
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Who’s the Boss? reunion without some Tony Danza tap dancing. Check out the video below:
