What’s This TV Show About?

Airing on the CBS television network, Zoo stars James Wolk as zoologist Jackson Oz. The cast also includes Kristen Connolly, Nonso Anozie, Billy Burke, Alyssa Diaz, Josh Salatin, and Gracie Dzienny. After noticing animals behaving strangely during the African safaris he conducts, Oz and his team work to figure out the reason behind it. Meanwhile, the animals assaults become more cunning, coordinated, and ferocious.

Season three of Zoo opens in the year 2027. Thanks to the sterility issue, the human population is still diminishing. Meanwhile, hybrids pose a new threat. This relentless force of lab-created creatures is determined to wipe humans off the face of the earth. Although the team members have grown alienated from each other over the last ten years, Jackson, Jamie (Connolly), Abraham (Anozie), Dariela (Diaz), and Logan (Salatin) have to get past their differences and reunite when they learn that Mitch (Burke) is alive. They must stop the hybrids and their enigmatic creator – someone with a connection to their past. 
 

Season Three Ratings

The third season of Zoo averaged a 0.51 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.65 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 31% and down by 40%, respectively. Find out how Zoo stacks up against the other CBS TV shows.
 

Telly’s Take

Although it premiered with even worse numbers than last season, it is difficult to figure out whether CBS will cancel or renew Zoo for season four. Frankly, after a 30% drop in both its demo numbers and audience size, I didn’t expect it to score this third season. I’m also a little put out. Crazy hybrids aren’t the only critters who need to feed. I’m happy for the fans of course, but still, I am starving. Personally, I think that the numbers are too low this time around. We’ll see.
