The 19th season of the Big Brother TV show on CBS features a new twist, the “Den of Temptation,” in which Houseguests will receive offers money, power, or safety, but they all come with consequences. The series follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 87 HD cameras and more than 100 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week someone is voted out of the house. The last remaining Houseguest wins the grand prize of $500,000. As always, there are also consequences to the Nielsen ratings. Could Big Brother be “eliminated” this year even though its already been renewed for a 20th season? Stay tuned.

In the 19th season, the new contestants are: Christmas Abbott, Matthew Clines, Dominique Cooper, Elena Davies, Jason Dent, Jessica Graf, Cameron Heard, Mark Jansen, Megan Lowder, Josh Martinez, Cody Nickson, Alex Ow, Jillian Parker, Kevin Schlehuber, Ramses Soto, and Raven Walton.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
