Castle: Season Five Ratings

Castle TV show ratingsThe competition for ratings on Monday nights is getting tougher and Castle’s ratings were already on the decline last season. Will it survive to see a sixth season or will it be cancelled after more than 100 episodes? Stay tuned.

The fifth season of Castle typically airs Monday nights at 10pm on the ABC network. The cast includes Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, Jon Huertas, Molly Quinn, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Seamus Dever, Susan Sullivan, and Tamala Jones.

Below are the TV show’s ratings for the 2012-13 season, the best way to tell if Castle is going to be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season.

Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.18 million total viewers.

2.1 in the demo (+5% change) with 11.16 million (+3% change).
Season averages: 2.04 in the demo with 10.18 million.

UPDATE: ABC has renewed this show for a sixth season for 2013-14.

Year-to-year, the Castle debut was down by 34% in the demo (vs a 3.2 rating) and down by 21% in viewers (vs 13.28 million). It was the lowest demo since April 2012 and the lowest viewership since February 2012.

Reference point: The 2011-12 season averaged a 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 10.71 million viewers.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Just discovered this series three weeks ago. I have replayed the entire five seasons at least three times since. Wonderful, wonderful show and I really hope that it does not get cancelled. I view the current episodes via HuluPlus.

Castle is the best show in a long time that I have seen.it has thebest story lines It is funny and serious at the same time.It has everything that real people love in a series keep it on the air. please and bones too. Especially castle

We love the show! There is tremendous chemistry between the two. With such crap on TV, this show us a breath of fresh air.

Please don’t cancel Castle. The show is very entertaining. It seems that many people
don’t understand the show. However, if they keep an open mind it’s about everyday relationship and life. I simply love the show. Castle reminds me of my better halIf
and Beckett reminds me of me. Hope it is not cancelled. I will not know what to watch
on TV again. Possibly the news.

Please don’t drop Castle. It is the only series I love to watch anymore. He is gorgeous and she is beautiful. You watch chemistry in their faces. I haven’t seen anything as close to “Lois & Clark Adventures” with Dean and Teri till Castle. All these years I have loved only Them and along comes Castle. I love the show! Great producing & directing!
