the forgotten: FOX Passes on New Christian Slater TV Show Pilot

IMAGEFor whatever reason, Christian Slater isn’t having much luck in television.

Last season, the movie actor starred in NBC’s My Own Worst Enemy, an action series in which he plays a man with two identities. Though it attracted devout audience, it wasn’t big enough. The show was cancelled after nine episodes.

This season, Slater played the lead in the forgotten. The ABC TV show revolves around a team of civilians who use their unique talents to try to solve difficult missing person cases.

Though the series hasn’t been officially cancelled by ABC, there’s basically no chance that it will be returning next season. Hopefully, the network will get around to airing the remaining two episodes.

Should Christian Slater try another series?

With the fate of the forgotten already essentially sealed, Slater signed on for a new FOX comedy pilot called Breaking In. From Adam Goldberg, the project revolves around a team of young geniuses who crack security systems. Trevor Moore also committed to the project.

This was the first time that Slater had actually signed on to a pilot. Enemy went straight to series and he took over the lead role on forgotten after the pilot had been picked up.

Unfortunately for Slater, FOX has just passed on the project. For the first time in a couple years, Slater won’t have a show on the fall schedule. This also won’t help the forgotten’s chances for a second season.

What do you think? Does Slater belong on television or is he just having some bad luck, like Nathan Fillion prior to Castle?

Christian Slater is talented actor. He is not one of these pretty boys we are so inundated with! His is an interesting face and a different approach to his acting. I hope he is just having a temporary low point; we all have them! Let’s hope someone somewhere picks up on this rare talent!

I enjoyed the mix of characters and his portrayal. He is talented and I hate most of the reality shows. Spare me Jersey Shore. Thank you for your time and I hope he gets air time.

I loved the Forgotton, it was a good series and had good story lines each week. Since ABC doesn’t have that many good shows they should wake up and pay better attention to shows like the Forgotton.

I loved the Forgotten I thought christain Slater did and amazing job aswell as the rest of the cast. Unfortuanlly i only saw the ones hired on hulu.com. I am sad that there will not be anymore. It would be awesome if cbs could pick it up. My favorite must see shows are Ncis, Csi , Csi Ny , Criminal Minds, Without out Trace, Bones, Cold Case, And the forgotten was just as well writen and acted out. Sorry To the cast

I enjoyed “the forgotten” and was looking forward to it each week. Seems they always seem to dump the really interesting shows for the trashy or gross-out shows.

The show “The Forgotten” made sense… It was just starting to develop it’s characters. It would always make me cry at the end of the show when they would bring closure to people lives. I really liked the cast… especially seeing Christian Slater playing a totally different character. The whole story line of people getting together to solve the case of a John or Jane Doe case is totally “cool”, because that’s exactly what happens w/ our everyday life… they become “The Forgotten”. Kudos to the writers of the show & their actors.
