After receiving a barrage of negative reviews, how will Guys with Kids perform in the ratings? Will it end up being quickly cancelled or end up being a surprise hit instead?
Per the fast affiliate ratings, last night’s premiere registered a 2.2 in the 18-49 demographic with 6.28 million total viewers. That wasn’t a terrible showing but it certainly wasn’t a great one either. It lost 24% of the demo audience from its lead-in, America’s Got Talent.
Based on all of the negative comments and reviews that I’ve seen, I think that NBC should be happy that Guys with Kids wasn’t an out-of-the-gate bomb.
It seems unlikely to happen but, if most of the premiere audience sticks around for the rest of the season, the network will have a hit — by NBC’s current standards anyway.

I love Guys With Kids!!! It’s a wonderful show somewhere between Seinfeld and Friends. The black girl tends to overact her part I think but the rest seem to blend quite well together. Very believable and wholesome. Very good!!!
Like “The Critic” above, I did not laugh. However, I’ll view it one more episode. If it doesn’t make me laugh, off it goes.
