Legend of the Seeker: TV Show Reportedly Cancelled, No Season Three

Legend of the SeekerWord is circulating today that Legend of the Seeker has been cancelled after two seasons. There hasn’t been an official announcement yet but it doesn’t look like there will be a third season.

Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.

Things haven’t been looking so good for the syndicated series for awhile. The ratings had dropped and, last month, the Tribune company (which owns a lot of local stations that air LOS) decided not to pick it up for a third year.

ABC Studios and show producers said that the show had not being cancelled yet and that the studio was searching for other local stations to fill in for the Tribune stations.

There had been unofficial word that that process was going well. However, now it seems that ABC couldn’t find enough takers for LOS.

Sad as this news might be, it doesn’t come as a big surprise. The season’s viewership started at about 2.5 million in November and the April 10th episode barely brought in two million. That’s not an attractive trend for a new buyers.

Hopefully, the producers will be able to include some degree of closure to the final episode.

What do you think? Are you sorry to hear there won’t be a third season of Legend of the Seeker?

We loved watching the seeker together. BRING it back . it was on at a bad time slot. Put it on at a time people would watch. like at night around 8 or 9 instead of moving it to a 4:00 time slot. Dumb move. WE loved the show. Merlin is ok. but my husband had read all the books, I was getting to experience what he was telling me about thru the show after he read the books. PLEASE BRING it back. Just let us know the time slot . IT will get the ratings if put on at a time when people are home.

I also enjoyed The Legend of the Seeker. I looked forward to it every week. Reality and lawyer shows are old and leave nothing to the imagination. Bring back the Seeker please.

I really enjoyed the Seeker. I think there would have been more viewers if it had been on in the evenings, prime time. Please give it another chance.

Hi, your right about people not knowing about this show. I didn’t and I just saw the series and I loved it.It seems they always cut the good shows. If it’s not about cops – lawyers-hospitals o rreallity shows they get canceled. Very sad.

I LOVE the Legend of Seeker! And I was very very sad to her that it was not going to continue with a 3rd season. I think if you continue it, it may have the fans(viewers) you are looking for. There is a lot of people who are begging for it to continue. Please don’t let it discontinue because of a few lost ratings, which I’m sure will raise after all this uproar.

everytime a good show comes to tv, it seems that its just not dirty enough to keep on the air. maybe if it had alot of f this, and f that, and if there was a few ( some what ) necked people on the show then maybe it would have a better chance.. please give it another chance… so we the seeker lovers at 8pm on sundays can have another go at this show. we view this show because we love.. oh! this is to whom this may concern….. you the ones that have the last say, then us the ones who really care for this show…. help us…

I didn’t realize until now that there was a chance that LOS would not be back. It is the only reason I turned the TV on, on Sundays. I worked my dinner and schedule around being free to watch it. What are they thinking, this is the kind of show that has a dedicated following. Many people don’t know about it; if the networks would advertise the show they would get a whole new group of loyal fans.
Please, at least give us a concluding episode!!
