While some game show hosts work very heavily with teleprompters, on the original Let’s Make a Deal, Monty Hall made a lot up as he went along. He knew the games and how much money he had to play with but that was it. It’s amazing to watch his old shows as he quickly adjusts for the unexpected.
Not long ago, deal-maker extraordinaire Hall, now 88-years-old, made a couple visits to the current Wayne Brady incarnation of Let’s Make a Deal — in honor of Hall’s sixth decade making deals.
On one show, Hall was just supposed to do a quick game but something unexpected happened. Watch closely and you’ll see Brady move in to take over. But, Hall wasn’t even thrown for a minute before coming up with a way to make something truly memorable.
