TV show description:
Created by Matthew Weiner (The Sopranos) and set in 1960’s New York City, this drama series depicts the life of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) who works at the Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue. Charming and mysterious, Don is Sterling Cooper’s star creative director. Men want to be him and women want to be with him.
Founding partner Bertram Cooper (Robert Morse) and partner Roger Sterling (John Slattery) rely on Draper’s finesse and talent to keep clients happy. But, up-and-coming account executives Pete Campbell (Vincent Kartheiser), Ken Cosgrove (Aaron Staton), Paul Kinsey (Michael Gladis) and Harry Crane (Rich Sommer) are waiting in the wings to take Don down a notch at any chance they can get. Meanwhile, office manager Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks) and secretary Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss) struggle with their traditional roles as women in an age that’s redefining them.
Aside from Don’s career, his life with beautiful wife Betty (January Jones) and adoring children Sally (Kiernan Shipka) and Robert (Aaron Hart, Maxwell Huckabee) is also the envy of many. But like advertising, not everything is at it seems. While Don hides affairs with client Rachel Menken (Maggie Siff) and illustrator Midge Daniels (Rosemarie DeWitt) it’s his past that is a more closely guarded secret.
