After six seasons, FX has cancelled Nip/Tuck. The often irreverent show has been very successful for the cable channel for several years. Though the ratings have dipped at times, the audience size is still quite good. In fact, it’s been the top show on basic cable among 18-49 adults for five years in a row. For whatever reason, the cable channel just feels it’s time for it to end.
Do you agree? Aren’t there still more crazy storylines that you’d like to see? Have Sean and Christian done it all or would you like to see them continue on? If so, there are a few things you can do.
Tell your friends and family members to tune in and watch on FX. If that’s not possible, encourage them to watch online. Maybe one of them is secretly a “Nielsen family” or knows one.
Write to FX. Let the network know how you feel but, keep it civil. Everyone responds best to courtesy.
Sign the petition below and let the FX execs know you’ve signed it. Spread the word and ask others to do the same. But do it quickly, as the docs will surely remind us, none of us are getting any younger.
To: Ryan Murphy Productions, The Shephard-Robin Company, Warner Bros. Television, and FX
We, the undersigned, have faithfully watched Nip/Tuck on FX. The series is well-acted, and is consistently entertaining — full of shocking twists, outrageous drama, and campy humor. It is a show that we would dearly miss if it went off the air.
Nip/Tuck is a great show and has performed very well for the network. Though FX has indicated that they are tired of the series, we the viewers are not.
Please reconsider the decision to cancel this show and keep producing it, if not for FX then for another channel. There are surely many outlets who would love to have such a successful series. If it is not at all possible to continue the weekly episodes, please consider producing TV movies. We truly want to see these characters continue to grow and live for many years to come.
Thank you for your consideration.
