Ringer: Ratings for the 2011-12 TV Season

Ringer ratingsHere are the ratings for Ringer. This TV show marks the return of Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Sarah Michelle Gellar to series television and gives her the opportunity to play dual roles. Ringer typically airs on Tuesdays nights at 9pm on The CW network.

Episode 01-04: Tuesday, 10/4/11
0.6 in the demo (-33% week-to-week change) with 1.5 million; fifth in the timeslot.
Season average: 0.9 in the demo with 2.06 million.
Demo average rank: #3 of 10 TV shows on the network (Fall 2011 – Spring 2012).

Episode 01-03: Tuesday, 9/27/11
It looks like things are stabilizing. Week three garnered a 0.9 demo rating once again with 1.98 million viewers. It’s still one of the higher averaging shows on the network but that’s not saying much.
Season average: 1.0 demo with 2.25 million.

Episode 01-02: Tuesday, 9/20/11
The second episode attracted a 0.9 in the 18-49 demo with 1.94 million viewers. That’s a loss of 25% in the demo and 31% in total viewership. This is not a good sign for the show’s future at all.
Season average: 1.1 demo with 2.39 million.

Episode 01-01: Tuesday, 9/13/11
The TV series debuted to a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.84 million viewers. While Ringer showed significant growth out of its 90210 lead-in, it didn’t do much better than Hellcats did a year earlier. The quarter hour breakdown of the numbers show little erosion, meaning that most people kept watching Ringer until the episode was over.

Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

Ringer is awesome, but I think after three seasons it should be over, but if it stops now after season 1 I will never look at a tv show from CW again.

Please don’t cancel Ringer, CW! I love this show!! You just need to give it more publicity/advertisements to get more people interested, everyone whom I’ve told about the show never heard of it but now watch regularly. It’s worth keeping on, all the guys are hot (except the murdering whackadoodle), love SMG, love the plots that keep changing!

Why not try a 13-episode seasons for RINGER next year, like the USA channel does for WHITE COLLAR? If cost is a factor, then it wouldn’t cost as much to make and the audience would still get their fix. Plus, this cast is huge. It would give them time to do other things and be on a tv show without requiring such a large time commitment.

We’re really enjoying Ringer! We’ve switched over to watching Ringer instead of Revenge because we never knew when Revenge was going to be on. The writing in Ringer is just as good, if not better, than Revenge. Sarah Michele Geller is a joy to watch! Plus, you actually get to see the show most weeks, instead of the constant disappointment that Disney/ABC is delivering.

Ringer has been the only show that I invested in for the fall season. Such a good cast with adult like plots that make The CW look like a professional network! Last night’s. Episode was amazing. There were scenes I would consider Emmy material.
