Scrubs: ABC TV Show Cancelled, No Season 10

ScrubsAfter seasons of poor ratings and several cast members moving on, ABC has finally put the Scrubs TV show to rest.

Scrubs follows hospital life as seen through the eyes of Dr. J.D. Dorian (Zach Braff). He left Sacred Heart last season but returns occasionally to help teach a new crop of med students. Others in the cast include Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, Ken Jenkins, Sarah Chalke, Eliza Coupe, Kerry Bishe, Michael Mosley, and Dave Franco.

Last May, despite poor ratings, ABC decided to try to squeeze one more year out of the veteran sitcom. The reason? ABC also produces Scrubs and stood to make big money on additional episodes in syndication.

The network kicked off season nine late last year and registered a low 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 4.5 million viewers. The numbers dropped even further and ABC decided to burn off most of the remaining episodes in January.

In March, ABC aired the final episode of the season. The network’s website promoted it as the “series finale.” We contacted a representative for ABC who told us that it was a mistake but nobody was in any rush to change it.

Now, it appears that ABC has finally cancelled Scrubs after nine seasons on the air. With more than 180 episodes, the sitcom won’t be coming back.

What do you think? Should Scrubs have returned after last season’s Braff send off? Did you like the “med school” setting and characters?

I love the tv show and think they should start reproducing more episodes of scrubs. The season doesn’t end with enough explaining and they just leave you wanting more

I also just finished the series today, and it breaks my heart that ABC ended it like that. At first Med School was kind of blah, but it grows on you. :/ I NEED more Scrubs!

i just finished up the 9th season, and i am really disapointed of the way this season ended. In my oppinion they should have ended with the 8th season. But they didn’t and began to air the 9th season, this was a great idea i loved “med school” but they didn’t had the balls to finish up the 9th season,, ABC those ********!!!!

I was really upset when I heard that they canceled scrubs.
In my opinion it was the best serie of all time. I have seen every episode, they where almost all really great.
I think Scrubs have to come back.

It ended due to poor ratings and a severely dwindling audience. So even though many of you liked scrubs 2.o the majority of people didn’t.

I agree that season 8 was a great finally and the new concept was pretty sketchy, but after they aired season 9, the new characters grew on me and I wanted closure. It kinda just left me hanging. Oh well. It had a good run. I missed the janitor though. But I understand why he didn’t return.

nothing like seasons 1 through 8 , was dissapointed that the janitor did not appear in season 9

If I ever won the lottery I’d pay to have the 10th season made, scrubs is one of the greatest shows ever made and I loved season 9 with the med students. If the the show were to end the final episode wasnt a proper send off, it left you wanting more and waiting for season 10.

At first I was hesitant to embrace the new style, but I, like a lot of people, grew to like the new characters. I feel like it shoud have been more separate from Scrubs, because it sort of became a whole new entity. Wish they would bring those characters back.

I was disappointed at first to see such a drastic change when they began the med school season but I quickly came to enjoy it. I am even more disappointed now to find out they canceled it completely.
