TV show description:
When a secret Stargate base is discovered in the ice of Antarctica, a new team is assigned to explore it. Their investigations lead them to the distant Pegasus galaxy where they find the legendary city of Atlantis and the dreaded Wraith, a powerful new enemy that lives by sucking the life out of humans.

The Stargate Atlantis team includes diplomatic relations specialist Doctor Elizabeth Weir (Torri Higginson); strong-willed Major John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan); geeky Captain Samantha “Sam” Carter (Amanda Tapping); energetic Lieutenant Aiden Ford (Rainbow Sun Francks); clever astrophysicist Dr. Rodney McKay (David Hewlett); witty Dr. Carson Beckett (Paul McGillion); Satedan Ronon Dex (Jason Momoa); and Teyla Emmagan (Rachel Luttrell), a beautiful and tough Athosian leader.

The series is a spin-off of Stargate SG-1.
