The end is coming for The Bonnie Hunt Show after two seasons on the air. Hosted by actress and comedian Bonnie Hunt, the Warner Bros. syndicated show has been struggling in the ratings essentially since it debuted.
The series has stayed on the air for two seasons mainly because NBC-owned stations had made a two-year deal. Warners could have pulled the plug last spring but instead showed faith and hoped that ratings would improve. Now that the agreement is coming to an end, so is The Bonnie Hunt Show.
Hunt reportedly gave the bad news to her staff on Monday morning but the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until last night.
By all accounts, the daytime series will remain in production and complete the season so there are lots of new episodes to come.
What do you think? Why did the show fail? Is there no room for more than a couple of daytime talk shows, like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show? Or, is there something lacking in Hunt’s show?

I love her show but it is on at 2 in the afternoon where I live and that is not a good time at all. She should either be on early, around 9am or the 4 p.m. slot.
That’s the problem. She IS on the times that you prefer, but not in your area. She is on at 9AM EST. in PA. There are also people that are able to view her on evenings. The schedule and advertising are so antiquated, that it is surprising that anyone is able to view her at all. Rather than a bright network realizing this-picking up her show-advertising the times, just as it does for other programming, she would continue to be a great show. This is too difficult obviously for the powers that be, so instead –Bonnie is gone.
I did not know Bonnie Hunt had a show until I found it by accident last month. Since then I have been watching it every day except for when they put on Ellen during the olympics. Then I watched the news. I really love The Bonnie Hunt Show. I beg the networks to please, please not cancel this really bright spot on afternoon TV. When Carl Reiner was a guest on her show he said he knew people and would see if he could keep her on. I hope that somebody does something to keep this really terrific show on the air.

What a disappointment! With all the crap on TV that could/should be GONE – they get rid of one of the best shows that we have available to watch. Bonnie is honest, compassionate and down-to-earth entertaining. Whoever made the decision to cancel the show should have their head examined!!!
I have always loved Bonnie Hunt and watched the different TV shows she has had. She is very comical, as well as her staff. The show is good, clean, and funny. Too bad the networks can’t see that.
Love the Bonnie Hunt show. It’s clean, funny and helps you forget all the other crap that is going on and is on TV! Can’t we somehow keep it on the air?
Bonnie Hunt is one of those rare celebrities whom which can get me to watch a movie/show that I normally wouldn’t, simply because she’s in it! Her warmth and humor are real, not manufactured and turn on and off for an audience (i.e. Eddie Murphy). Of course, that’s the kind of quality that Faketown frowns upon.
I will miss the Bonnie Hunt Show very much for so many reasons. Her clean humor, her compassion, and her wonderful personality. Her crew is terrific and you always feel good not only while you are watching her program but afterward as well. I for one will miss her.
