NBC recently debuted a new sitcom on Thursday nights called 100 Questions. Will this new TV show last past the summer season and become a staple of the network’s Thursday line-up?
100 Questions revolves around Charlotte Payne (Sophie Winkleman), a young woman looking for love. She’s come to a dating service and is answering 100 questions posed by a consultant named Andrew (Michael Benjamin Washington). While trying to figure out what she’s looking for in a mate, she recounts relationship stories and these memories include friends Leslie (Smith Cho), Jill (Collette Wolfe), Mike (Christopher Moynihan), and Wayne (David Walton).
The sitcom debuted on May 27th to a terrible 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.48 million viewers. That’s one of the worst premieres in NBC’s history. In week two, the demo bumped up a little (a 0.9 rating) but total viewership dropped (2.22 million). Truly horrible numbers for original programming.
The ratings for 100 Questions can’t come as much of a surprise to NBC execs as they seem to have lost faith in the series months ago. NBC originally ordered 13 episodes but they shut down production after only six were completed. The sitcom was planned to be a mid-season replacement series but was pushed into summer, a time when networks typically air repeats and burn off extra programming.
Based on the ratings, there’s no way that 100 Questions will be back for a second season. It’s also highly likely that NBC will pull the show before all six installments have aired. After all, the network is getting better ratings from repeats of its other comedies.
But, what do you think? Do you like 100 Questions? Cancel or keep it?

The laugh track makes this show completely unwatchable!!!!! Obnoxious… CANCEL!
I love the show! Is one of the best sitcom I ever saw! Of course, my opinion is keeping the serie for many many seasons!
KEEP ALL THE WAY … it is a really good show … I’m starting to fall in love with it … eventhought I’m hard to please and I’m a big fan of setcom … so, please keep
Awesome show keep it I Love watching it
I stumbled upon it by accident too. It has a lot of potential but not on NBC. NBC is the worst posible network ever. The biggest disadvantage of putting a show in NBC is that not a lot of people watch anything from that channel to begin with, and just like any other show it has, it will not advertise it unless they haave reason to believe that it’s going to be a huge hit. This show would have been a huge hit had CBS got a hold of it.
I almost didn’t bother to tune in because I thought it was another lame game show based on its title and the lack of promotion by NBC. I caught it by accident and it has potential. I like the female characters and the actresses, but not the male ones which seem like whiney losers. Also, the writing seemed a bit stiff as it set up everyone’s character for the audience (the loose girl, the divorcee, the playboy with a good heart, etc.). It has potential and time should be given for it to develop. Not sure that’s going to happen… Read more »
THis show was the most wanted pilot last year. Bidding war between networks, High dollars. NBC won and came out on top. they love the script because it was cutting edge with the content, and tone. Then NBC got their claws into it and ripped it to shreds. Theytried to micro manage every aspect of the show down to what words could and could not be said. we’re talking common non threatening words. As for the laugh track, the show had to stop taping live due to NBC forcing an unknown Director into the pool who didn’t know how to… Read more »
Love this show! I stumbled across it too. I’m 49, my son is 24, we both love it! Okay, we hate the laugh track, but it gets easier to ignore it as time passes. The show itself is funny and smart and visually stunning. Wonderful camera work, gorgeous actors/actresses. Why do they always want to cancel the good stuff and keep around the crap (parks and recreation). Why did they cancel Earl????????????? Earl was the best show on TV, hands down! Give 100 questions some promotion and give it a chance NBC! And while you’re at it, put parks and… Read more »
Love it! Keep it please
Terrible show! Trying to be like Friends but is more like a grown-up version of Hanna Montana and that is not a good thing! And why the lame soundtrack? Do they really think we are that stupid?
Kill it. No reason we should all suffer because of hack writers.
they had some of the best writer in town. Poeple from Raymond, Malcolm in the Middle, Will and Grace. Blame the non creative execs telling the Writers what to say.
Totally agree with ‘the insider’. ‘Charlotte’ i bucked it up as well after two episodes ran.
Kill it. It’s a pathetic Friends/Cheers-like knock-off with very little credibility. Why the British lead character anyway? Why is this ethnically balanced gang hanging out together in the first place? ..and this time it’s a Happy Hour on a daily basis? Why do we even have to see this consultant character. He’s as completely useless to the plotline as the two kids we’re forced to see Bob Saget pander to in HIMYT.
KEEP IT! This show is so funny! i love it! If NBC had promoted it a little bit more, maybe they would have more viewers. I only stumbled upon it on hulu out of boredom. I would like to see it stick around, at least for the summer! (and the main character has an awesome name! hehehehe)
I with Ali on this. I almost turned it because of the laugh track. It’s a goner but I’d keep because it is funny.
Love this show – once you get past the laughtrack in the first few mins the show flows very well – this SHOULD be a regular. No ads about this show that I have seen, I just stumbled onto it via hulu.
