It’s been a rocky road for NBC’s 100 Questions and now the journey is over. The sitcom has been cancelled after one season and six episodes.
100 Questions follows Charlotte Payne (Sophie Winkleman), a young woman who’s looking for love. She goes to a dating service and answers 100 questions as posed by a frustrated consultant named Andrew (Michael Benjamin Washington). While trying to figure out what she’s looking for in a mate, she recounts relationship stories that include friends Leslie (Smith Cho), Jill (Collette Wolfe), Mike (Christopher Moynihan), and Wayne (David Walton).
Originally titled 100 Questions for Charlotte Payne, the pilot was directed by Emmy Award-winning director James Burrows. NBC ordered it to series but then recast several characters and director Alex Hardcastle took over. After six installments were produced, the network cut the episode order and shut down production. Then, the show’s premiere was delayed until May 27th. Clearly, the network’s enthusiasm had waned a bit.
When 100 Questions finally did debut, most viewers didn’t notice. The show’s premiere episode attracted horrible numbers — just a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.48 million viewers. The numbers got even worse as the weeks progressed. The network kept the show on the schedule and let all six episodes air. There won’t be any more though.
To no surprise, 100 Questions has been cancelled and won’t be back for a second season, as reported by both Futon Critic and MediaWeek.
Though NBC declined to comment, Moynihan, the show’s creator and a co-star, has already moved on. He recently signed a deal to write and executive produce two new projects for ABC Studios. He’s also expected to have a part in front of the camera as well.
What do you think? Are you sorry that 100 Questions won’t be back? How would you have wrapped up Charlotte’s quest? Why do you think the series didn’t succeed?

I mean Wayne:):):)
I am looking forward to see Nate in another projects:)
I didn’t even see a commercial for it. I came across it OnDemand and was hooked. It was a funny comedy like Friends and a nice break. I enjoyed the actors. I wanted to see Charolett realize that Wayne may be the one for her. First the Ex List is cancelled and now 100 Questions. It was one out of the two shows I looked forward to watch this summer. Such a let down.
Too bad .
It was quite a break in our hard schedules and i am terribly sorry for not having more episodes.
maybe it wasn’t that good but i think this show deserved a chance.
what you were expecting, compete with himym in first 6 episodes?
i’m really sad to see this show go. like everyone else, i was genuinely looking forward to coming home on thurs nights and having an episode waiting for me in my DVR. sad 🙁
i really hope they bring it back!!!!! it was so good!!!
even here in Brazil we loved to watch it
it reminds me of Friends, and I was really looking forward for the next season :/
I agreee with Joanne….really I only saw one commercial for the show and had to PVR it just to watch it…I thought it was good show and really NBC sucks….they are starting to cancel every program just because they aren’t getting as many viewers as their most popular show….not everyone has the same taste in programs….at least leave them on air for those who enjoy the show….ughhhh useless network!!!!
NBC made a big mistake…this show would have had a following had it been launched in the regular season. Creators should pitch it to cable networks…it will work, it just needs to be done the right way. I’ve been watching it on demand and I’m very disappointed it is gone now.
I agree! I feel like everytime I get really excited about a show it gets cancelled! How is 2.48 million viewers bad again?
Stop messin with me. Every time I find a good show I like you take it away. Keep the goofy comedies, people need to laugh.
I actually enjoyed the show very much! It made me laugh and I would look forward to thursday nights just to watch it. I’m going to miss you! I wanted to see what happened between Charlotte and Wayne so so very badly!
When I first heard that this show was on, I wasn’t impressed. But then I actually started to watch the show and was looking forward to Thrus nights, so I could watch. I was really getting into 100 Questions and am sad to find that this show isn’t going to be on anymore. I am hoping that NBC really condiers putting the show back on the air…. Had I had known that I was going to really like this show, I would have tuned in sooner than I did. Maybe if the writing was a bit different, some seriousness as… Read more »
Totally agreed
Classic NBC bonehead programming…put on a fresh new show, launch it in the summer when it’s hard to get viewership anyway, don’t advertise so people don’t know about it, and then pull the plug because the demographic isn’t watching….geeeeezzzz… maybe someone should ask the NBC program directors 100 Questions about how they keep their jobs!!!
