To little surprise, ABC has cancelled 666 Park Avenue, their struggling Sunday night series. While the network will air all 13 episodes, there won’t be any after that. In addition, ABC also cancelled Last Resort today and CBS canned Partners.
666 Park Avenue follows a Midwest couple who’ve moved to New York City. They end up managing The Drake, a prestigious residential hotel that’s not as nice a building as it seems. The TV series features the talents of Terry O’Quinn, Vanessa Williams, Dave Annable, Rachael Taylor, Robert Buckley, Mercedes Masöhn, Helena Mattsson, Samantha Logan, and Erik Palladino.
The show debuted on September 30th, in ABC’s troubled Sundays at 10pm timeslot. The premiere’s ratings weren’t very impressive, attracting a mediocre 2.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.9 million total viewers. That was 30% lower than what Pan Am had registered a year earlier.
Park Avenue’s numbers have gotten even worse since the debut. The coveted demographic dropped to a 1.7 rating in week two (down 19%) and a 1.5 rating in week three (down another 12%). The ratings perked up a bit in weeks four (a 1.7 rating) and five (a 1.6 rating) but dropped to a 1.2 rating last Sunday.
But, what do you think? Should ABC have cancelled 666 Park Avenue? Will you miss the show?
This is getting ridiculous. They make a huge hype over a series then you start watching it and make it part of your routine just for them to cancel it after the first season. Seriously thinking about not watching any series on the main ABC , NBC, or CBS. It just get aggravating because god forbid they even make it end the season with an all around closing. Nope they end it with the normal season finale with a crap ton of unanswered questions. Boo.
So tired of getting sucked into good shows like 666 Park Avenue to only have them Cancelled. Shame on you ABC! I think I will just start watching other channels like NBC and CBS, they at least don’t cancel the good ones!
I was really getting into this series and I am very upset it has been cancelled. regards, Greg De Mesones/US Navy Veteran.

I’m so sick of getting involved in a show an it getting cancelled. This is a good show as is Last Resort. I’m sick of reality shows and I’m not into the vampires or zombies. I’m at the point of just watching TNT and other channels that keep their shows going. ABC is known for cancelling shows and replacing them with something worse.
It seems like every new show I get interested in, gets cancelled! I was really getting into this one as well as last resort. It will probably be replaced with so dumb singing or dancing competition!
Just as with Lost the writers went to crazy with the wierd stuff. This show could have been really good if they eased into it slower. Get the people into the show, some don’t like that format right out of the gate. Maybe ABC will finaly get the message after Lost, The River, and now this show.
I loved this show, it was starting to get good. I’m really disappointed.
My wife and I got sucked into this program and have enjoyed every second of it. (As well as Last Resort.) Both are terrific shows with great writing a rich characters. So I guess I’m not too surprised it didn’t get the 18-49 demos.
Can’t tell you how disappointed I am!
I feel the same exact way. 666 park ave, the river, last resort, and so many more, they cancel all these great shows right as they get so interesting! I’m about to go on strike and stop watching them, they even replace them with the stupidest shows, shows that no one should care about but they do because we are getting dumber and dumber every day. I can not believe they would cancel this show and all the other shows they’ve canceled. They just get worse and worse. Needless to say I will not be watching abc nearly as much
This is the worst. I love this show, it is really getting good. Every show I have liked they have canceled. Maybe not have it on a night that most people watch football!
i love this show – they will take it off and probaly put on another reality show in its place. please please keep this show – its just keeps gettting better and better i wait each week to see what is happening next.
The problem with the show was the timeslot, Sun at 1000. No sense taping it, too many other things to do.

This show could’ve been a lot better. I feel it might have been better if the two main characters were played by different, more interesting actors. Henry had too much of a wide-eyed, “aw shucks” look for me to believe he was ambitious and Jane was just dull. And I didn’t like how each episode dealt with a different resident and their problem. How often must people die in a building before people freak out? The girl that wrote the obituary and the guy came to life. Why didn’t she rewrite her story to save her editor’s life. She did… Read more »
