The first episode registered a 1.4 in the 18-49 demographic and 9.45 million total viewers. It was in second place for the timeslot, behind Kitchen Nightmares in the demo. However, A Gifted Man easily won the timeslot in terms of total viewers, attracting nearly as many viewers as NBC, ABC, and CW combined.
Year-to-year, Gifted Man matched now-cancelled Medium’s demo number but improved on total viewership by more than 50%. CBS cancelled Medium with an average 1.4 rating so this wasn’t a great start.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the A Gifted Man TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?

Love the show. Please do not cancel. I wait for fridays to watch the show. Can’t wait for the characteres to evolve, dynamic is great
This is an AWESOME show. It will probably get cancelled for that reason. CBS won’t leave a show on that people like, instead they let us get involved in the show’s lives and then rip it away from us and wonder why ratings are so bad! KEEP THIS SHOW!!
I really enjoy this show. Please give it a chance. If need be for ratings ,change the day, alot of people are out on Friday nights. This show is worth keeping and the actors are great.
Show is terrific. Still not over the cancellation of Medium which was FANTASTIC.
CBS get a grip and leave Gifted Man on and give it a better night and timeslot since all you car about is revenue and nielson
I’ve been a devoted fan of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy since its beginning; however, I’m now, equally, enjoying CBS’ A Gifted Man. Patrick Wilson is a wonderful actor and the storylines are well written and believable. Of course, his piercing blue eyes are hypnotizing and he uses them to full advantage in showing his emotions as a renowned doctor and as a man who’s struggling between the scientific facts and the etherial possibilities of life’s mysteries. I’m 69 yrs. old, so I don’t fit your demographic; but I will continue to be a faithful follower of A Gifted Man. Please renew… Read more »
Please dont cancel gifted man, I love this show, he is so cool, maybe they could change the day, like thursday, theres nothing on, give it chance.
My husband and I love the show…can’t wait for Friday night…one of the best TV viewing nights on TV. The acting is great, the stories interesting and original. Not your usual doctor and medical program. Must better that The Practice. Please do not cancel this show. You might do well to promote it a bit more. All you so on TV ads is about Modern Family or Desperate Housewives. A Gifted Man has more honest emotion in it than either of those.
Great show, love it and Person of Interest, don’t usually watch cbs primetime but these two shows are worth watching, has great writing.
Please keep this show CBS- there is so much garbage on TV including on CBS-
This is only one hour of 3 hours I watch on TV anymore, hate reality TV- If you cancel this, I’m down to 30 minutes on CBS!
Save the show one of the best on tv
I love this show. The characters are awesome and the acting is amazing. I love the stories each week. Maybe if it were on another night then it would get better ratings. PLEASE DONT CANCEL!!
Half way through the first show I wasn’t sure. But then it clicked and grabbed me. I’m hooked. It’s believable and intelligent. Great cast. Patrick Wilson’s experience has been mostly theater and film, but he’s doing a fantastic job in a series roll as well. Love him. Pablo Schreiber and the rest of the crew do a great job too. Would hate to see a show like this – that actually has substance – be cancelled.
My Husband and I Love this show. We always know what is on Friday night at 8:00. We love the story line, actors and plots. Please don’t cancel this show. Patrick Wilson is the best!!!!
I love the show. Don’t cancel it. Good characters, need more time to develop.
I think it’s a great show. But it airs Friday nights so what did CBS expect for ratings?
Great acting and the characters are just starting to blossom. They should have more faith and give it a chance.
