What’s next for American Crime? Series creator John Ridley recently revealed new details to Deadline about season three of the ABC series.

The anthology drama explores the social, political, and economic aspects of a new crime each season. The cast includes Timothy Hutton, Felicity Huffman, and Regina King. The show was renewed for a third season back in May.

First, Ridley announced Regina King will return for season three:

We could not be more excited to welcome Regina back for a third season of American Crime. She is among the talent who have quickly become intimately associated with the program.”

As part of his statement, Ridley also revealed season three will be set in North Carolina and deal with labor issues:

As with the first two seasons, her many fans can expect a total transformation as she plays one of the complicated individuals caught up in a story that deals with labor issues, economic divides and individual rights in this season’s setting of North Carolina.”

ABC has not yet announced a premiere date for season three of American Crime.
