Once again, Esquire Network and NBC have teamed up to air the American Ninja Warrior TV series. Last year, the ratings grew on NBC. Will they continue to rise this season or will they fall. Will the series be renewed for an eight season or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
Hosted by Matt Iseman, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Kristine Leahy, American Ninja Warrior follows competitors as they try to conquer a series of challenging obstacle courses in both city qualifying and city finals rounds across the country. Those that successfully complete the finals course in their designated region move on to the national finals round in Las Vegas. There, they will face a four-stage course that’s been modeled after the famed Mt. Midoriyama course in Japan. The winner takes home a grand prize of $1,000,000. Although many have come close, no competitor has yet to achieve total victory and claim the prize.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
8/13 update: NBC has picked up this series for Summer 2016.
9/8 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The sixth season of American Ninja Warrior on NBC averaged a 1.79 rating in the demo with 5.34 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the American Ninja Warrior TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for an eighth season?
I would imagine that American Ninja Warrior will continue to do well as long as it sticks to the format established by the Original Ninja Warrior (from Japan). I started watching Ninja Warrior on the G4 network back in 2004 or 5 … I’m still watching the American version. Keep it pure and keep it coming … My opinion, thanks …
