Last night, NBC aired the season finale of American Odyssey. Though the show’s ratings have been very poor, there’s apparently still some hope that the drama will survive to see a second season.
Last night, executive producer Peter Horton wrote, “Seeing your comments all season, but especially tonight, best fans ever. Will let you know about season two tomorrow. xo #AmericanOdyssey”
Unfortunately for fans of American Odyssey, the ratings have not been good. The series debuted to low ratings — a 1.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.372 million viewers — and they’ve gotten much worse since then. Last week’s installment hit a new low with a 0.4 in the demo and 2.2 million.
6/29 update: Series co-creator Adam Armus has tweeted, “No news today dear #AmericanOdyssey fans. See you here tomorrow, same bat time, same bat channel.”
6/30 update: NBC has cancelled the series.

Excellent show! We found it on demand a month ago and absolutely love it. I can’t wait to see what happens in Season 2. Please, renew!!! I’ve found two shows this Spring that I saw no ads for, but stumbled upon them On Demand. The other one was Battle Creek. Sadly, after getting familiar with the characters in Battle Creek, and liking them all a lot (plus, a detective show in a city other than the usual big cities….great angle!), the show was cancelled. The only new show I have watched this year. I would be very disappointed if cancelled. Looked forward to Sunday, a night I never watch tv.

Maybe reason for low ratings is the night it is held– maybe more viewers in like a Wednesday or Fhursaday night or something.. How could anyone not like this show?
