Tragedy strikes Ax Men. TVLine reports Ax Men star Gabe Rygaard was killed in a car accident last week in his home state of Washington.
Earlier this year, Rygaard announced the History series had been cancelled after nine seasons. His family’s logging company was featured in the docuseries, which chronicled the logging industry of the Pacific Northwest.
In May, Rygaard posted a message on Facebook saying there would be no 10th season of Ax Men:

Ax Men was a good show, and I’m sorry to hear about the accident and my prayers go to the Rygard family. I used to be a logger and it was funny and nice to watch a show that brought back alot of memories.

I am so sorry to hear about Gabe, my prayers are with his family. Hard when a young life is called to be with the Lord. I have been waiting for season 10 and decided to google and found it had been cancelled. Very disappointed. I loved watching all the characters on this show.
I think they should make another season rygard wasnt the only one on the show

We were looking for season 10 release date to find it is cancelled. We really liked this show especially Shelby the swamp man.
Why stop a show because someone died the show should go on in memory of Gabe and the other ax men who have died on the show .
If a show or anything else like film’s etc when someone dies they are cancelled then you will have nothing to watch on TV anymore
Gabe had posted that there would be no season 10 so it wasn’t because he died.
At Least give Swamp man Shelby his own show even if it’s just once a month. He’s a Goldmine of fun if ya’ll would work him right.

First off my prayers go out to the rygaard family, I’m devastated with the horrible news, I live in aberdeen wa just down from Port Angeles i been watching ax men since day 1 and there are only two things I look forward to in the fall and winter and that is ax men and gold rush, I hope you figure out what went wrong and come back stronger, if you want tips I would say keep the cameras on logging, not the crazy swamp loggers, keep it real like rygaard , papac, browning, etc…..
