TV show description:
A drama, this TV series revolves around two mismatched law enforcement officers. They have polar opposite views of the world and (possibly) a grudging respect for each other’s abilities as they clean up the streets of Battle Creek, Michigan.
Detective Russ Agnew (Dean Winters) is a good but gruff and hard-boiled detective. He’s had his world turned upside down when strikingly handsome and charismatic Special Agent Milton Chamberlain (Josh Duhamel) opens an FBI field office at the police station — and he chooses Russ to be his partner.
Milt’s polished sophistication and access to unlimited state-of-the-art equipment is impressive to his new co-workers in the absurdly underfunded department.
The pair work long hours together in the economically distressed city and it remains to be seen if Milt’s charm and endless supply of high-end resources or Russ’s old-fashioned cynicism, guile and deception will be the keys to catching the bad guys.
Other characters include Commander Guziewicz (Janet McTeer), Detective Fontanelle White (Kal Penn), Holly Dale (Aubrey Dollar), and Aaron Funkhauser (Edward Fordham, Jr.).
Episode #13 — Sympathy for the Devil
Milt survives a car bombing and enlists Russ to track down his would-be assassin, leading to startling revelations as to why Milt is the way he is and what brought him to Battle Creek.
First aired: May 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Battle Creek TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season instead?
Really enjoyed watching this show every week, highly disappointed that it will not be coming back for a second season in the fall. Now I won’t have anything to watch on Sundays at 10:00 pm anymore.
Loved the show. Sad that it is canceled?
This show doesn’t rely on autopsies to “entertain”, but has interesting relationships. Hard to believe that CBS would cancel a quality show. I hope another network picks it up.
Bob is right, any Network would be proud to pick this up, and well rewarded by the ratings!
Great show excellent characters great stories there has to be a place for it some where.
Not your run of the mill cop show. Perhaps a little more real than other shows.
Please reconsider canceling this show. Its terrific!
A case of wrong timeslotting, but definitely not because of the lack of great character development, or morality and comedy in the midst of drama and intrigue. Great cast of characters. What a shame. My wife and I are discerning, and we are shocked.
Do NOT cancel BATTLE CREEK! It’s great, quirky, and has a phenomenol cast. How could CSI CYBER, a worse-than-mediocre procedural, be renewed and not BATTLE CREEK? What planet does CBS live on?
Save Battle creek!! Enjoyable show for the whole family…not full of sex and nonsense. Love milt and the rest of the gang!
Renew it.
Where on face book do I go to help save Battle Creek. I love the show. I write to cbs every day to reconsider. What more can I do
Another place to your plea is on Facebook. Type in Save Battle creek Post on the community one. There are two – not sure how to post in the one that says TV Show. Post on both if you can. Wish another station would see how good it is. Since CBS can’t !
What a shame — a fun, quirky, well acted show without gratuitous sex/skin or ridiculous violence and it gets dumped. If this show can’t make it it makes me fearful of what TV and in this case CBS is going to offer viewers.
Hey actors and writers take heart maybe a more discriminating network will recognize your talents
Please find a way to keep this show on!!! If this show gets canceled then someone at CBS didn’t do their job of promoting it or getting it in the right time slot. It is a very smart show . Some of the trash that’s on TV , yet this very
Entertaining show gets canceled. I’m bummed.
Finally there’s a show that isn’t aimed at the 8th grade intelligence level. Soon I’ll just stop watching Network TV all together. Either they cancel shows aimed at intelligent adults or they ruin them by adding too much violence, sex, bad language and darkness (all things those in command seem to think young adults must have in order to watch TV). Is it just too difficult to write an intelligent show that appeals to educated people of all ages and stick to your original premise? Remember; very few people today still watch television shows at their scheduled times. We are… Read more »
I agree with everything you said! Very well put! If you are so inclined, on Facebook there is SAVE BATTLE CREEK on CBS that needs this post!
I definitely agree with all of the above. CBS has always been our favorite station throughout the week. TNT and USA are becoming our favorite networks with their quirky, innovative, amusing and creative shows. This particular show is wonderful. The stories are great and the actors are fantastic and mesh together so well in each of the episodes. There is so much garbage on TV, but your station has never been one of them in a very, very long time. Please reconsider keeping BATTLE CREEK on next season.
I agree that TNT and USA have taken the lead in unique programming. I can’t understand why CBS would let a great show go. Hopefully one of these other networks will pick it up. However, they have taken feelgood, quirky shows with complicated characters and ruined them by “going down a dark path”. When a show has a loyal following and truly enjoys the show, why do the writers or whomever feel the need to go in a different direction? Do shows have to include drug s, addiction and other things that happen to people we know? Don’t they realize… Read more »
I definitely agree! I can’t believe CBS would take this show off the air. That’s our favorite channel. They have awesome shows and this was, for sure, one of them. All the actors on this particular show are fantastic. We totally agree with Jeannie, that TNT AND USA, have taken on some beautifully quirky, innovative, amusing and creative shows. CBS has always been the leader here, why would they take this off the air. This is a GREAT, GREAT show.KEEP IT ON.
