Bo has some amazing abilities but unfortunately they didn’t help save her series. NBC has cancelled the Believe TV show after one season.
Believe revolves around a young girl who has special abilities and the adults who are trying to protect her. The cast includes Johnny Sequoyah, Jake McLaughlin, Delroy Lindo, Kyle MacLachlan, Jamie Chung, and Arian Moayed.
The series got off to a positive start, thanks to its premiere airing on a Monday night after NBC’s top-rated show, The Voice. Unfortunately only about 60% of that episode’s audience decided to tune in to watch the second episode six days later.
The ratings kept falling lower each week. This week’s installment of Believe drew just a 1.0 demo rating with 4.33 million viewers. Those numbers were just too low to justify ordering a second season.
On the positive side, it appears that NBC plans to order all of the remaining four episodes.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Believe hasn’t been renewed for a second season?
Why would you cancel such a great show? This is something that both my kids and I like to watch together as a family. There just isn’t much good TV on nowadays and now you go and cancel a really good show; it’s so unique – I hope that another network buys the other seasons and continues to air it (if this is a possibility). Do you know how hard it is to find a show that myself a 9 year old and a 14 year old can all agree on? I’m very bummed!
I was incredibly impressed by this show and even more so that NBC would put such an awesome show on. The cast did a wonderful job, I couldn’t wait for tne next episode and now they cancel the show after one season, in a word, predictable. And severely disappointing. Wish someone else would pick it up.
Just like the cancelled series “Touch”, Believe throws in elements of spirituality into what would otherwise be your garden variety sci-fi action show.Fast paced, smart and well written at first, but after a couple episodes it seems that the writers didn’t know where to take shows of this kind of originality,so they wind up using tired old cliches’ and making a jumbled mess till people get bored and stop watching. What a shame
DO NOT CANCEL!!! Plssssssssssss. This show is awesome
And it is worthy of every bit of air time it is given. For once it is not only talent shows that have occupied the viewing intelligence of the public – a show with a storyline that has character and dimension. If the network is stupid enough to let Believe go, then, I hope another broadcasting station will take the initiative to provide what the viewing audience wants not selective ratings based on Nielsen. This cast, the writers and an award winning director has what it takes to keep the viewers glued to their flat screens since the days of… Read more »
This is a very positive show. Hope another network picks it up.
I cannot believe that they are not going to bring it back for another series!!!! I loved this show it keeps you on your toes.
Another smart show cancelled for ratings. Breaks in sched. did not help nor did it being playoff time in hockey (&basketball) producers should take it over to fx tnt or usa. Nbc programing stinks anyway…found show by accident- i never look there for listings. Ha
I am heartbroken that the show has been cancelled. This was an amazing show with amazing actors. There aren’t many good shows on anymore and here goes another one. Two good shows now gone (Revolution and Believe!!) Every time a good, clean show comes around it gets cancelled. I hate to even get hooked on any show anymore! 🙁
Everything about Believe is solid and not the least bit irritating like Resurrection, reruns of SNL, 2 broke girls, etc. It needs to be moved back to Monday because there are just too many good options on Sunday and pretty much nothing on Monday. Besides, once Downton Abby season comes back to PBS, nothing else will compete. I hope that Believe generates enough of a cult following to air on another station. Unlike ABC, NBC has no fortitude. Nashville struggled at first but its audience grew. It’s called word-of-mouth. Bad planning on NBC’s part.
I am extremely sad that Believe is canceled. It is clean, happy and full of life lessons. Young girls have a role model showing that there is a choice in life. That they can choose to do what’s right even if it is hard. I think it would be tragic not to bring it back. Changing the day of airing to Saturday would be better. Young girls and adults are struggling to find a wholesome show with strong characters to watch on Saturday nights. Maybe this would be a better slot for this show.
No joke, my jaw dropped at the announcement of ‘Believes series finale in two weeks’.
Haven’t watched anything on this network in ages until Believe made its debut. Please reconsider cancelling after just one season. Give it a chance? :-/
Love the show. It has a great storyline and acting.
I am astonished tha nbc cancelled this show it was awesome. If I was JJ Abrams I would give up on nbc and make and market his shows on his own.
This is such a great show. It has so much potential! Please don’t cancel!
I just can’t believe it! This show is sooooo good! How it got canceled?
