Summer is here and so is the 19th season of the Big Brother TV show on CBS. The series follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with 87 HD cameras and more than 100 microphones, recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week someone is voted out of the house. The last remaining Houseguest wins the grand prize of $500,000. Season 19 features a new twist, the “Den of Temptation,” in which Houseguests will receive offers money, power, or safety, but they all come with consequences. So do the Nielsen ratings. Could Big Brother be cancelled even though it’s already been renewed for a 20th season? Stay tuned.
A competitive reality TV series, hosted by Julie Chen, Big Brother typically airs on CBS three nights a week — Wednesdays (veto), Thursdays (eviction), and Sundays. In the 19th season, the new contestants are: Christmas Abbott, Matthew Clines, Dominique Cooper, Elena Davies, Jason Dent, Jessica Graf, Cameron Heard, Mark Jansen, Megan Lowder, Josh Martinez, Cody Nickson, Alex Ow, Jillian Parker, Kevin Schlehuber, Ramses Soto, and Raven Walton.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. What do you think? Do you like the Big Brother TV series? Should it be cancelled or be renewed past the 20th season?
This was the most despicable show on TV and CBS should be ashamed of allowing the things that people with morals fight for everyday. To promote bullying and utter harassment is heartbreaking! The young people of America I pray see how wrong this is! Cancel it?
After the worst season ever (this one) YES PLEASE!!! This season is vile and the venom the producers allowed to happen is abusive and disgusting. It’s obvious that CBS will do anything for viewership even outright abuse and threats was condoned. Julie Chen is to good for this mess. There were five people in my family watching and I’m the only one left. I continue to watch to see if anything is addressed but I promise you this will be my last time to watch this disgusting show. We started watching BB with the season Clay Honeycutt was on because… Read more »
This season is full of bullying, vile houseguests, and rules seem to be nonexistant. If next season is going to be like this one, please please cancel this show.
This is the stupidest show on CBS. It stays on only because Julie Chen is married to CBS executive. Please cancel this show — it’s an insult to our intelligence!
This show is just horrible. If it only aired once a week it would still be too much! Why can’t CBS come up with something intelligent and interesting?
Have watched since the beginning. This group of houseguests is terrible. And what’s with bringing previous people back?
I think big brother is going down hill, the mentallity of house guest is leaving alot to be desired, a dumbed down generation appeal maybe. I watched part of the first season 19 but half way through change the channel. Hey I have an idea get a house load of baby boomers, and you just might get the ratings up. But as long as it continues this way, my wife and I are not interested. And we have been watching every season.
