As expected, ABC has cancelled their summer series Black Box after one season of 13 episodes, reports EW.
Black Box revolves around a beautiful and brilliant neuroscientist (Kelly Reilly) who’s hiding the fact that she’s bipolar. The rest of the cast includes Ditch Davey, David Ajala, Terry Kinney, Ali Wong, David Chisum, Laura Fraser, Siobhan Williams, and Vanessa Redgrave.
The series debuted in late April to a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.87 million viewers. It was a mediocre start for the dramatic series and the numbers got progressively worse as new episodes were released. Towards the end of its 13 episode run, Black Box dropped to a 0.6 demo rating with 3.72 million.
The last two episodes aired on July 24th, leaving the main character’s professional fate up in the air.

It was a great show. after thinking I would not like it, it turned out to be very good and gives people and insight as to how people with bipolar feel, like Robin Williams
It’s so heartbreaking when really good shows like Black Box are cancelled and terrible shows like Chicago Fire and Chicago PD are still on the air.
I am very unhappy that abc has cancelled black box I think Kelly is the best female to watch on tv I hope you have other people who feel the same
There are THOUSANDS of “Black Box” fans who are disappointed and angry that ABC
cancelled such a great show that could have been on the air for YEARS (!!) like House or
Grey’s Anatomy! But no, ABC cancelled it without giving it any advertising, changed time slots after taking it off the air and then putting it back on creating confusion with the viewers. ABC really MESSED UP this time, and I am praying some other network will pick it up and make ABC really REGRET their decision not to keep it.

I agree with Chris. Black Box was tremendous series that allowed people to begin to understand the complexity of the human brain and how much we DON’T know! Love the show, bring it back!

I’ve grown to love Dr. Black and her love interest Dr. Bickman. Their story was beginning to blossom. Shame on you abc!!! I PRAY ANOTHER NETWORK RESCUES

They reported low demographic ratings. How do they determine that? It seems there are actually more viewers than they actually reporting
I think whatever they use is inaccurate. Black Box has a heavy following.
They determine it by putting their collective heads up their collective asses? Hands down it was the BEST show of the summer!

It has such an interesting plot, the characters are fascinating and the cases discussed were so interesting.

This tv series was HANDS down the best series I have seen for a long time. It was so interesting(all the different scenarios. I am so disappointed it was cancelled. What a shame
Dr. House of the brain and thankfully it’s not lupus. Shame to see it go, the problem it faced was the time slot. It being against non-witty sitcoms killed it. Another good series dead.
Sad to see this cancelled. It was a good show that touched on real issues dealing with mental illness.
I really lowed all 13 episodes and would love to see more. Finally a serie that is not for the dumb crowd, like Teen Mooms. It is a shame, that it has been cancelled! I watched it by Viaplay, and my guess is, that Black Box appeals a bit more to the professionals, who might not have too much time to spend, watching series. Keeping a serie likes this on medias like streaming services would be the right thing to do. Please also make entertainment to those, who does not find Jackass amusing.
