Like many ABC shows, Black-ish saw a sizable drop in the ratings last season. Will the numbers continue to fall in season three? Could it be cancelled or, is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season because of potential syndication profits? Stay tuned.
On Black-ish, Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) has a great job, a beautiful wife (Tracee Ellis Ross), four kids (Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, and Marsai Martin), and a colonial home in the suburbs. He’s a happy man but, has success caused him and his family to lose touch with their roots? With a little help from his father (Laurence Fishburne), Dre sets out to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family that honors their past while embracing the future.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Last year comparison: The second season of Black-ish averaged a 1.78 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.85 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Black-ish TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?

Love love love this show. Hysterical, well written and dream cast
Love love love this show. So funny yet insightful. A dream cast.
The show is okay don’t remove it we need like a dorse
It is tough to take people seriously who live at the upper level of society complaining about how unfair society is. Blackish is a walking contradiction. People who live in the top 0.5% of the world population criticizing the US is really disconnected. Even in Europe, these people who have this much wealth.
Black-ish is a AWESOME T.V show. This is real tragedies that happen in the real world. Trust me I’m black and everything that happens in this show is what has happen to me a lot of time back then. I love this show and everything about it! Let the show begin to seasons 4, 5, 6…… Who cares about the people hate it, care about the people who love it!!!
You guys the show is awesome and people who watch it says YES season 4, 5, 6…! Season 1 was funny, but the political junk made me tune out fast.
I think Black~ish should be renewed because it is a hilarious series that still reflects on the problems and experiences that are real life issues.
I also stopped watching when the show became very racist. Great way to get rid of all your white viewers.
hahahaha! Doesn’t matter. If they do cancel this prematurely; then OWN, Netflix, Amazon etc will pick it up with a quickness! More money to be had on those formats anyways. Plus, they have smarter execs & tastemakers than network TV nowadays.
This show has an amazing cast, and the subject matter is VERY relatable (obviously not to you & the rest of you, but that’s why you hate it… & hide behind the “politics” excuse… ha!).
No!! U R WRONG. A lot of people LOVE this show.
I AM BLACK-ISH
I agree with the others. I stopped watching when it started to spew propaganda, racism and politics. Another show trying to divide the American people. Instead of non biased entertainment. I see these type of shows as a step backwards. Tired of bait and switch shows. Started out as a normal family dealing with normal issues.
Show is racist as hell and should be discontinued. It didnt start out like that
Obviously your watching it from a biased way and you choose to want to discontinue the show because it expels hidden racism in america and makes you uncomfortable .
The show is very very racist
It should not continue to air
I liked the show until it became too political and racial preferred it before the current season.
It is an educator and helps to rid stereotypes. It shows what people have in common as well as allowed differences ..individualism. It tackles modern subjects and teaches history for understanding. It allows kids to be vocal and teaches them how to do so respectfully. It teaches adults so see children as persons with opinions. It is not always funny but it gets to the core of being ” human… That which we all have in common!!
Garbage.Blacks have no clue how to raise a family, what raise thugs .
Blackish should never be cancelled, that show is very educating and it deals with hard topic and still stay funny….its the definition of diversity.
Yes I love this show, I hope it maintains stability and is around for a long time.
Love , love this tv show. Please renew the show!!!! Love Diane!!!!!!
