Like many ABC shows, Black-ish saw a sizable drop in the ratings last season. Will the numbers continue to fall in season three? Could it be cancelled or, is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season because of potential syndication profits? Stay tuned.
On Black-ish, Dre Johnson (Anthony Anderson) has a great job, a beautiful wife (Tracee Ellis Ross), four kids (Yara Shahidi, Marcus Scribner, Miles Brown, and Marsai Martin), and a colonial home in the suburbs. He’s a happy man but, has success caused him and his family to lose touch with their roots? With a little help from his father (Laurence Fishburne), Dre sets out to establish a sense of cultural identity for his family that honors their past while embracing the future.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Last year comparison: The second season of Black-ish averaged a 1.78 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.85 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Black-ish TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?

I Love the show
It is a fun show.
It is a fun show and laughter comes in all different shades…All shades of complexions are good enough for GOD.
Read the bible. God doe not promote some of the underlying negativity said on the show. Not healthy for children who need to grow up with a positive attitude, not a whiny, victim attitude. I worship God’s Word, obviously not the rich creators of this show.
I agree it just started being political it was cool and all, but i wanna watch somethibg funny
Love this show!great cast please renew!
Keep it! Good humor for all ages.

Please cancel – I’m sick of all the politics. I liked it at first but then every episode became a political statement.
Please cancel it!!
Yes! I couldn’t agree more!
Cancel this show, it’s garbage much like mostly all of the new TV shows like the middle, real O’Neals, modern family, etc.
I Would Loved For A Fourth Fifth And Sixth Season To Come This Year.
I Think A Renew Season Will Because I Will Love How The Whole Cast And Crew Will Do.
I thought season 1 was good because it showed people trying to get along it started getting political but I put up with it until after the election and they decided to have a special show on helping people cope with the results of the election. Then i and many seniors in my group stop watching we wish to be entertained.. they are not helping race relations. Would they have had a special show help people cope with Hillary Clinton winning the election I think not. That in itself is racist But that seems to be what we can expect… Read more »
