Will there be another season of The Blacklist? Recently, NBC chief Jennifer Salke discussed the future of the TV series, Deadline reports.
The thriller drama revolves around one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader). The cast also includes Diego Klattenhoff, Harry Lennix, Ryan Eggold, Hisham Tawfiq, Amir Arison, and Mozhan Marno. Last month, NBC debuted a spin-off series called The Blacklist: Redemption.
Season four of The Blacklist is on hiatus until April 20th and ratings have been down for the show. Season four has been earning an average rating of 1.06 in the 18-49 demo and 5.471 million viewers. For comparison, season three averaged a 1.42 rating in the 18-49 demo with a total of 6.83 million viewers.
During a recent conference, Salke said the numbers are low but the show is a big performer overseas:
[The Blacklist] very profitable for Sony and an important show for us. Even though the linear rating is nothing to write home about, we define it differently and look at how it performs over a few days. It’s huge overseas.”
The creators of The Blacklist will pitch a new season to NBC next week.

The black list is the only show I look forward to each week, my wife thinks its a
little violent , but I don’t . I love the cast from Spader on down keep it coming.
Guys please, for Australia please keep it coming, The Blacklist (not the spin-off) has a solid following amongst my associates. Programming times here are dismally late night, due the dramatic gory accuracy, realism and bluntness. Great show, & Netflix, thanks, I watch when it suits my work routine. Devastated there were only 15 episodes in season 4.
How about a season 4 encore while you work out season 5 thru 50.
I’m hoping to see season 5 of the blacklist. Blacklist Redemption is not good.
I cannot warm up to the new spin off series and am left wondering what the heck happened to Liz and Remmington. I don’t think I shall be watching the spin off series. I have tried but cannot warm up to it. I don’t even understand what is going on although I do like the actor who portrays Tom. Put him back in the regular Blacklist and get rid of the spin off.
The Blacklist should be renewed. Hopefully you have good writers who can continue the storylines of the lady he left to die (can’t remember her name) and his trusted friend who betrayed (poisoned) him! Please keep The Blacklist for Season 5.
I look forward to The Blacklist each week (record and watch it the next day). Great acting, especially by James Spader, who gives extreme depth to the character which is not found on most of television. A good support cast as well so quite diversified. Well written and intelligent also. I would be VERY disappointed should the show not be renewed after the season ends. I do NOT find Blacklist-Redemption as interesting. I will keep watching it for now but NOT a sufficient replacement for The Blacklist should that be the direction NBC is trying to go.
With this, I love this series. James Spade is expetacular and passionate, I love it !! I think that in season 4 should reveal his true relationship with Liz, I’m sure this would increase the interest in the series more, because this indecision is very tiring.I watch each episode at least a dozen times. I’ve watched a few times every season, I’m addicted. This series has many fans in Brazil.
please leave me blacklist James Spader is mezmerizing as Red. There is nothing on TV compared to Blacklist. Please explain what happened to the lady he left to die…she could give you a spicey storyline of revenge!
My wife and I were late comers to the series having caught up first on Netflix followed by purchasing season 4 on iTunes. It is our favorite show hands down. Please bring a season 5.
Please renew Blacklist. Redemption lacking in Red and Liz. I know many people who love Blk list
Please give us a season 5! Love this show. Have watched it from the very start and NEVER mis an episode. It’s the only show on TV I even like.
Another season will be wonderful, and I will be a faithful viewer specially if red and Liz are paired off! That is what they need to make the ratings go sky high!

Please keep Blacklist. Red is just THE BEST. Redemption not a patch on Blacklist. James Spader is the Blacklist. Wouldn’t be the same without him.
