Even though The Blacklist TV show’s ratings have dropped significantly each year, NBC still renewed it for a fifth season. Meanwhile, the spin-off — The Blacklist: Redemption — was cancelled after just one installment. At the end of this season, the original series should have well over 100 episodes in the can — more than enough for an attractive syndication package. Is this the end of the road for the Concierge of Crime? Will The Blacklist be cancelled or renewed for season six? Stay tuned.
An action thriller, The Blacklist stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Kattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix, Amir Arison, Mozhan Marnò, and Hisham Tawfiq. The NBC crime drama centers on one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives, Raymond “Red” Reddington (Spader). He offers to help the authorities, if rookie agent Elizabeth Keen (Boone) partners with him. In season five, Red is in the process of rebuilding his criminal empire, with her at his side. Although she’s still working for the Feds, Liz is sorely tempted to indulge her more criminal side. **Status update below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fourth season of The Blacklist averaged a 0.99 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.284 million viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like The Blacklist TV series? Did you expect it to be cancelled or renewed for a sixth season on NBC? When do you think it should end?
**5/12/2018 Status Update: The Blacklist is renewed for season six on NBC. Details here.
OM PLEASE RENEW I JUST HEARD ABOUT BLACKLIST ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND ALREADY I HAVE WATCHED ALL UP TO SEASON 5 (WHICH IS AIRING NOW). I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH MY FAMILY AND I LOVE THIS SHOW AND HOPE TO CONTINUE TO WATCH!
This show is excellent drama. Well written and incredibly interesting.
Greatest show ever every episodes fells like its really happening ,the cast excellent but i must say to bad Tom Kean is gone his persona gave a lot of deaph to the show ,i dont even understand why the show is in trouble
I just love the Blacklist. I only watch that show. Please let it continue!
I love this show! Its the only show my wife and I can sit down and enjoy together! Please don’t cancel!
This is, by far, the best series I’ve ever watched. My television viewing is limited the last few years because there is nothing worth watching. It’s all boring, re-done, re-written junk that doesn’t hold my attention. I actually get excited about watching each episode of Blacklist and very much look forward to it.
I’m not a fan of watching TV but the Blacklist, Blindspot, Navy Seals, and The Brave are the only shows I watch. I guess I like the intense nature of the show. There should definitely be more seasons of these shows.
More James Spader and the criminals and less Megan Boone and all the other FBI characters. James Spader is the only reason I watch the show.
Cancelling the best show would be one of the biggest mistakes NBC has ever made. The viewers that are polled to determine the fate of the “Blacklist” must be either deaf or blind or both. Another show in jeopardy is “Blindspot” and although it is not as interesting as the Blacklist, it is worth saving especially when compared to other trash shows that will probably be renewed on your network.
The show is not the same without Tom…I loved the love story between Liz & Tom…no Tom-no show…I have lost interest
Tom Keen should not have been killed. And all those secret should be revealed each season for public satisfaction and yes season 6 should come with Reddingtom dembe Elizabeth and task force being functional
please renew the blacklist for season 6
it shouldn’t be stopped….
please renew as it is the best programme on tv
Please do renew the show for season 6 and then 7 and 8 and on and on!! The last time I was this hooked on a show was “Unforgettable” and it really was unforgivable the way they left us hanging with that one. I love the storyline with Liz knowing Red’s her father and I am so very much hoping that Tom’s death will bring them even closer together. And as I’m from Estonia, I really can’t watch the show live on NBC, so my views don’t really go into account and that’s unfair! You’ve got a brilliant thing going… Read more »
Hope that the show will continue onto the next season. Very few shows out there that are “binge worthy” like this one ! Keep em coming !
