TV show description:
This soap opera follows a young couple as they move to Williston, North Dakota in order to seek their fortune. It’s said that a millionaire is made every day in this town that’s been booming since the discovery of a huge oil reserve.
Tycoon Hap Briggs (Don Johnson) is a typical oil drilling Barron and a force to be reckoned with. In contrast to Briggs’ self-made image is his socialite wife, Carla (Amber Valletta), who is forever jetting off to the city.
Confronted with his legacy, he is riled by his heavy drinking college dropout son, Wick (Scott Michael Foster), who’s sense of entitlement makes him an undeserving heir.
Meanwhile, Billy (Chace Crawford) and Cody LeFever (Rebecca Rittenhouse) are pursuing the American dream. They’re determined to succeed in a place that’s reminiscent of a frontier town during the gold rush — there are rowdy bars and no shortage of men easily making and parting with money.
Hap takes Billy under his wing with Billy’s drive and commitment reminding Hap of himself as a young man. Seeing someone take his place causes Wick to lose control and he embarks on a vicious campaign of hatred against those who he believes have wronged him.
Episode #10 — Departures
Christmas is a time for coming together, but for the Lefevers, it’s a time of difficult choices. Billy faces an ultimatum to either save his marriage by leaving Rock Springs forever or to stay in the oil game alone while Cody experiences temptation in the form of another man. With the Black Elks land deal slipping away, Annie and Hap consider doing the unthinkable – joining forces to help secure this once-in-a-lifetime oil acquisition. Fearing the fate of his son, AJ enlists Tip to help bring the child to safety. And finally, another father-and-son relationship is pushed to its limits when Hap and Wick finally lay it all out on the table at the Briggs Christmas Eve gathering.
First aired: December 10, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Blood & Oil TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love it Blood and oil.Don’t cancel
I love the show. I especially love Don Johnson, cool actor, and Chace Crawford is fabulous! Really good actor, he should be given more movie roles! He should get a Bond/Bourne type role in the movies…would be fabulous in the part!
I absolutely love love love blood and oil it’s my favorite show on tv I am praying it don’t get cancelled cause finally there is a show in love
Love the show
Love this show. It’s fabulous. For us old timers that loved Dallas, this is just as great
I agree! Love it! Please keep it!
It is great to have a soap opera type drama back for those of us who love this type of TV. The “reality TV” era has come and needs to start to fade away. Bring back more of storylines with real actors.
I love love this show!!! PlEase do not cancel!!!!
I love it. Love It!!!!!!
As far as entertainment goes, I like the show. Interesting character & story development. I vote to continue w/another season BUT they should get a bonifide oil consultant to make sets & situations more authentic. The town, oil rigs & pristine pick-up trucks & tankers just look ridiculous as does the West Elm furnished “dive” motel & Jules’ loft. Could use a nod to authenticity be a bit grittier. This is a Hollywood version of an oil boom town. Fix it.
I’m actually from Tioga, North Dakota. Home of the first oil well in the damn state, smack dab in the dead center of the bakken. This show is such a joke and slap in the face to how it is. Every episode I just get more and more upset over the things wrong with how they perceive the oil field. I don’t care that they filmed in near mountains, but every new episode the show just gets worse. Work over rigs aren’t tied down to the point the guy lines blow up out of the ground when ran into, oil… Read more »
Dump it. Of all the good ideas out there who the hell chose this crappy show. The story sucks the dialogue is bad the location confusing the believability is off the setup was rushed the plausibility lacking….just a worthless waste of time. I want those hours of my life back I spent watching it….
I’m sorry you are so disappointed with this show. That is exactly how I feel about so many shows I don’t watch. I, personally, love this show and hope it continues. It fits a hole that there really isn’t any of….a week to week soap opera type drama with multiple storylines and a fun group of actors. We need variety on TV so there are choices available to everyone…..not just the same reality based shows week after week but actual, scripted storylines. I hope you can find a show to fit your wants and I hope that Blood & Oil… Read more »
Hope it continues. Great show. Love Don Johnson as Hap!!!!
love it hope it continues, its actually filmed in the new production studio in park city, ut
It has been canceled!!!!!
I’m from ND, and I’ve worked the patch….This show is garbage as far as having any resemblance to reality out there….One of my favorite is the mountains in the background. The Badlands have buttes, and the highest would probably be about the quarter of the way (If that) to the tree line (where the tress stop growing tall) on real mountains. In general almost everything in the patch was wrong. They make it the Wild West as if not much change has happened since those days…poor research and poor writing…I had high hopes for something I had experience with (The… Read more »
Like it good
Its a TV show like all others use your imagination??? Its not a Documentary!!!
Interesting…a little Dallas, a little Revenge…and a whole lot of double-dealing. I hope
the ensuing episodes build.
AMEN!!
Oil thicker than blood so far. Will continue to watch. Nice to see Amber Valletta shine compared to Revenge’s Lydia. A lot happened for a premier episode, even for fiction. Hope character depth resembles the peeling of an onion. Need it to retain viewership.
