TV show description:
A competitive reality TV series, the Boy Band TV show features still undiscovered singers facing off to become part of the next music phenomenon. The series covers the odyssey of the young, male contestants facing off to prove they deserve a place in the country’s next hit boy band. The members who make it through the season finale will, as a band, receive a Hollywood Records recording contract.
British singer-songwriter Rita Ora hosts the series, with music producer Timbaland, Backstreet Boys vet Nick Carter, and Spice Girls alum Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) serving as architects of the next boy band. Alan Blackstone — who has worked with Janet Jackson, Rihanna, Maroon 5, Alicia Keys, and Justin Timberlake — is musical director.
Although thousands of singers audition, only 30 contestants are selected to face off in the season premiere. By that episode’s end, Timbaland, Carter, and Bunton have eliminated 12, leaving just 18 spots in a total of three bands.
Each subsequent episode features a new theme, and the architects shuffle the members around to find the best combinations to perform on live TV. The architects then offer critiques on their performances and place two contestants up for elimination.
Those singers go head to head in the solo survival song round, and home viewers vote to save their favorite. In the season finale, the five man band is announced and performs their new single for the first time.
Series Finale:
Episode #10 —
The final eight contestants learn their fate as America’s top five vocalists are revealed. After proving week after week that they have what it takes to become a part of America’s next great boy band, the winning five are awarded with a recording contract with Hollywood Records and perform their new single “Eyes Closed.”
First aired: August 24, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the Boy Band TV series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love the show!! Please bring it back next year!!!
I love this show!! Pure entertaintment.
I like the show, but there seem to be audio issues. Only during the singing. Like they can’t get the mic adjusted or something.
Also, I agree with other comments about Nick. He’s annoying and arrogant. I’d rather not have to listen to his opinions.
Love the show. Only one complaint – Nick Carter. Get rid of him. He still thinks he’s a boy bander. Hate his comments and sense of self importance and his staring at the camera as if he is God’s gift to the show.
I love boy band since they took some of the talent stuff off we only got the voice or americast got talent or idol coming back on I think it a great show I love the judges and the show let please renew it
I absolutely love Boy Band. It is ten times better than any other singing competition show. I think the talent will just grow even more if you continue this series. I have watched every episode and look forward to it on Thursday nights. I like the group song at the beginning of the show. Adding a celebrity judge each week would be a good idea. I hope that the show continues each season.
I think the show is unique in that it gives boys the opportunity to showcase themselves at this age group. It should be renewed. It is refreshing and new.
The show is interesting and I watch it every week. However, after this week (Aug 3, 2017), if it wasn’t so close to the finale, I would quit watching. The screaming girls are always a little irritating but this week you couldn’t even hear the contestants! I watch to hear the contestants not a bunch of screaming girls!! For the finale and if renewed for another season, please tone them down so your audience can hear the ‘Boy Band’!
Sorry, that’s raise the “bar”.
With the exception of renowned Producer Timbaland there is very little of importance offered by the panel to the contestants. Nick’s comments are the worst. I had hoped the shows would improve from week to week. They aren’t. So far elimination is based on one of the guys having an off night. I really do enjoy the show, but they really need to raise the ball if they are to continue for another season.
Yes the show should be renewed.
I think Nick should reserve some of his comments!!He directs his comments to harsh on TV he should remember where he came from, and who put him there.
I agree with Susan..Nick is rude.

I agree with Susan. Some remarks Nick makes
Are hurtful…

The show must be renewed! This is an awesome show for all ages. It is uplifting and entertaining. We can see the boys learning all of the aspects of putting together a cohesive group. Lots of pleasurable enjoyment without all the drama of other reality shows.
The Show is awesome, and should be picked up for another season. Besides the professional advice the architects give, it shows the difficult it is to get into the business. For one that has a crush on Nick for 10 years now. I hope to see other members of the boy bands that I grew up with. They are hot , and it is so cool to have another generation falling for these guys all over again. Best of luck.
Nick shoud be giving constructive criticism to these guys—–His crass-ness just reminds me that he’s trying to be another Simon Cowell . Not very becoming . this show should be a step above what we’ve seen in the past.
I like the show.
