CBS has released their schedule for Fall 2018. While much of their schedule has remained the same, there are a few interesting changes. The network is introducing five new shows and a revival this fall. (Here are the shows returning midseason.)
Monday nights will look very different. CBS is launching two new comedies in the 8:00 PM hour (The Neighborhood and Happy Together) and those will be followed by a reboot of Magnum PI at 9:00 (versus the usual second block of comedies). Bull is moving to Mondays to round out the night.
The revival of Murphy Brown will air on Thursday nights at 9:30 PM. The press release notes that this is a “new time period” for the sitcom, a reminder that this is the same show that last aired in 1998. At one time, Murphy Brown aired at 9:00 on Mondays while the original Magnum PI aired on Thursdays at 8:00.
CBS shows returning Fall 2018: 48 Hours, 60 Minutes, The Big Bang Theory, Blue Bloods, Bull, Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five-0, MacGyver, Madam Secretary, Mom, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, Seal Team, Survivor, SWAT, and Young Sheldon.

In addition, the groundbreaking comedy MURPHY BROWN returns, starring original cast members Candice Bergen, Faith Ford, Joe Regalbuto and Grant Shaud.
“When you have a primetime lineup that won the season while competing against the Super Bowl and the Winter Olympics on another network, you look to keep your core schedule mostly intact, while making strategic moves to help grow nights,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “We’ve maintained stability across winning nights, while adding some important new pieces to our Monday night lineup. And, next year, we’re positioned to build on this success with the addition of these exciting new shows and primetime events, such as ‘The AFC Championship Game,’ ‘Super Bowl LIII,’ ‘The Grammy Awards’ and the NCAA Final Four.”

Brought together by the “God Account,” the two find themselves investigating God’s friend suggestions and inadvertently helping others in need. Miles is set on getting to the bottom of what he believes is an elaborate hoax, but in the meantime he’ll play along and, in the process, change his life forever. With keys to a vintage Ferrari in one hand, aviator sunglasses in the other, and an Old Düsseldorf longneck chilling in the fridge, Thomas Magnum is back on the case! When Dave Johnson (Max Greenfield) and his family arrive from Michigan, they’re unfazed that their new dream home is located in a community quite different from their small town. However, their opinionated next-door neighbor, Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer), is wary of the newcomers, certain that they’ll disrupt the culture on the block. Dave realizes that fitting into their new community is more complex than he expected, but if he can find a way to connect with Calvin, they have an excellent chance of making their new neighborhood their home. Multiple Emmy Award winners Candice Bergen and series creator Diane English reunite for MURPHY BROWN, the revival of the groundbreaking comedy about the eponymous broadcast news legend and her biting take on current events, now in a world of 24-hour cable, social media, “fake news” and a vastly different political climate. Amid a divided nation, chaotic national discourse and rampant attacks on the press, Murphy returns to the airwaves with her original FYI team: lifestyle reporter Corky Sherwood, investigative journalist Frank Fontana and producer Miles Silverberg. Murphy’s son, Avery, shares his mother’s competitive spirit and quick wit, and has followed in her journalistic footsteps – perhaps too closely. Now back in the game, Murphy is determined to draw the line between good television and honest reporting, proving that the world needs Murphy Brown now more than ever. Diane English returns as executive producer with Candice Bergen for Bend in the Road Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television. English created the series. Pamela Fryman will direct the pilot from a script by English.

Want more Elementary Season 7 coming up?
VERY UPSET that CBS is dropping SCORPION. It was one of two shows I watched regularly.
I will truly miss Code Black. It was the best show ever. I cared about the characters and each story line was riveting. Please bring it back!
I also will miss Scorpian. That was a fun show.
FBI will not get a chance to be seen. It’s up against
This Is Us on NBC on Tuesdays
Can’t wait for Blue Bloods. Best show on CBS.
HATE Code Black is not returning – one of the BEST in years
I am SSSOOOO Glad that u cancelled Kevin Can Wait. I do not care the main actor-I can’t even remember his name, and I thought the show was ruined when his first wife was written out! As far as I am concerned, it was on 1 season too many. I luv a good comedy~such as Big Bang and the old Tim Allen Show. But the guy in this show is so stupid acting he is not even funny…
Man with a plan is midseason. Click the link on the very top of this page for more info.
CBS needs their head read for renewing “Hawaii Five-O.” The show hasn’t been the same since Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park refused to compromise themselves and quit. Most of the time I can’t bring myself to watch it. It breaks my heart that it hasn’t lived up to its initial promise, and that someone as talented as Alex is forced to lower his standards because talentless hacks won’t lift their game and raise theirs. That’s the trouble with not just Hollywood, but the whole world today.
what was CBS thinking when they scheduled bull at the same time as ABC’s the good doctor? Bull is my second most favorite show with Criminal Minds as number one! Where is Instinct and man with a plan? other than my personal complaints and opinions, I am extremely excited to see what CBS has brought us for New entertainment! CBS is my number 1 television station!!
Man with a Plan? Where is it?
I have that same exact question!
