Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I can’t believe you cancelled Cedar Cove all of my sisters and I loved it. Sure hope you bring it back.
I lived cedar cove – I would pay to be able to see season 4 – I can’t believe they are leaving Paul and Olivia just hanging like that! It’s like reading a book that doesn’t have an ending – I’m so disappointed – they should have at least done an episode finale . It was a good wholesome show – I will miss it
Cedar cover was real life show with no drama actions violence a good one to watch with family. What’s next I suppose there will cancel when calls the heart and good witch. Don’t understand when it’s good and clean shows they cancelle them :(((((((
Very sorry to hear that they cancelled my cedar cove very very disappointed in Hallmark Channel…..no sure if I will support this channel anymore
Can’t really believed they cancelled it and left season 3 end the way it did!
I am very disappointed that Cedar Cove has been cancelled! I loved this show and have been looking forward to seeing it this summer. Why do all the good shows get cancelled?
I was one of the 1.67 million viewers that waited all year and I just now found out it is not coming back. I think that was a mistake. Please bring it back it was a Good series.
Very disappointed to hear Cedar Cove was cancelled. It was a good clean show. The least hallmark could have done was bring some closure to the open storylines from season 3. What a disappointment and a slap to the loyal viewers.
I’ve been waiting for the show to come back and now that it’s not, I’m very disappointed! Maybe some day they will change their minds and bring it back. I wish that they would have given us more so that I wouldn’t be waiting around to see what would or could happen.
I read all of the Cedar Cove series and loved that they made it into a television series. I hate that they have cancelled such a good show. They could have gone a long way with this on tv. Please reconsider and bring back the show.
Really sad that Hallmark cancelled the show without actually ending the storylines. Just watched the entire season 3 on Netflix and loved the storylines and characters. Want more seasons! Or at least an ending! If you want more viewership of shows then make Hallmark more accessible than just on cable. Not a cable user, but would subscribe to certain channels that I actually watch. Tired of the best non-violent shows getting cancelled because of lack of viewership.
I would love to see this show come back for more seasons! It was a refreshing change of pace from the normal tv fare. Would be great if Netflix picked it up and ran with it.
Please bring it back.. I so look forward to seeing in every summer… I love Debbie books
I loved the show. I can’t wait to watch season 4.
Really sorry you cancelled Cedar Cove . Such a good show
