Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Cedar Cove is a great show!! I am very disappointed in the cancellation of the show. It is not right to leave the show ending as it did. I really hope something can be done to air a season four as all of us who have followed the show would like it to continue!
Disappointed to hear that they cancelled this series. There’s too much crap on tv these days. It was a nice change of pace- beautiful setting and story-line. Sad to hear of their decision.
Please renew this series. Watching now on Netflix and don’t want it to end!!
I have been waiting all summer for July and Cedar Cove. I would wait for Saturday nights to curl up on the couch and drift off to Cedar Cove. It was so nice to have a show our whole family could watch.
PLEASE, PLEASE renew Cedar Cove for a 4th, 5th, and 6th season!!! I am a Hallmark junkie and watch almost everything on the two channels. It saddens me so you felt you need to cancel such an amazing show with an amazing cast.
I LOVED Cedar Cove and couldn’t wait for Saturday nights to curl up on the couch and drift into their world – even for just an hour. I am SO sad to hear of its cancellation. I only watch wholesome TV and everything on the Hallmark channels are just that – for my whole family to watch at the same time.
PLEASE, PLEASE I beg of you to bring back Cedar Cove.
I am so disappointed that the series is cancelled!! I really hope a movie is made in the future to at least tie up all the unanswered questions!!! I was an avid follower. The series will be missed.
This is such a HUGE disappointment that they would cancel the show! I couldn’t wait for it to come out on Netflix and I watched the entire season in three days! I want to know what happens with Olivia and Paul!!! VERY bad decision- it was good clean entertainment.
You should feel obligated to somehow wrap up the show. Ridiculous !
I have followed Cedar Cove since the first season and love, love, love the cast they chose and story line. I have great disappointment to hear that it has been canceled. I cannot believe the producers can leave this story hanging. Very poor decision. Really.
I am really disappointed that Cedar Cove was cancelled. You are right. It ended with a lot of unanswered questions. I love the cast. I love the storyline for each one. PLEASE! PLEASE! bring it back with the same cast.
Agree with other comments. EITHER CONTINUE or at least wrap it up with a 2 hour finale.
So disappointed! Could it continue on net flix? Maccomber made me want to live in cedar cove. Andy McDowell made it come to life. Loyal fan will miss the people who were like family.:'(
I am soon sad, mad, hurt, and dismayed to hear Cedar Cove is cancelled!!!!!!! That was the first show that I loved everything about. I think Hallmark channel made a HUGE mistake!
I think Hallmark has lost a million viewers who will not watch another Hallmark series because they were left in limbo on this one. Had I known, I would not have watched the first 3 seasons. It was a great series now tainted by their falure to follow through. Trust is priceless.
I really liked Cedar Cove and am sorry it won’t be returning! I really wanted to know who Olivia would pick – Jack or Paul! I think Hallmark should change their minds! It was nice to have a “wholesome” to watch – not much of that these days!
