Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Can we resolve the issues please at least with a final episode?
I think they are wrong cedar cove is great they should return for a fourth season hallmark u should put cedar cove back on but hallmark in the business of making money and not in the business of making people happy what a shame greedy hallmark if it’s not good for you then it’s not good for people right hallmark you should be a shame but your not that’s the greed you people have
We really enjoyed this show. Would have been nice for a final episode
It is sad that shows like this are cancelled when you see some of those that are still showing.
Disappointed this series was cancelled
Unaware that the show had been cancelled, I had never thought it would because it really was so good! I understand about ratings etc. but really! Could you not have given us one final episode like other shows do? You did that with the postal people, cancelled the show and given us movies, thank you by the way. I really would like to know what happen with Olivia and Paul (not Jack) and Justine and Luke (not Seth) not opinionated I am.
I loved the series and NO it should not have been cancelled! Very disappointed.
I was looking forward th this season.watched every season. Sad to see a wholesome show rates low. Goes to show how people are changing. Be nice to see a finale series or something. The cast is like family.Gonna miss you all.
I will miss Cedar Cove and am disappointed it was canceled. Maybe Hallmark could do a final episode movie.
Been anticipating the return of season 4. So disappointed that Hallmark didn’t bring back another season if for no other reason than to tie up all unanswered questions and make an ending finale! Please bring back!
I’ve been watching and hoping for good news that I could see mo re seaskms. Please renew some day.
I just finished watching Season 3 on Netflix and went looking for info on Season 4. Bummed that it’s been cancelled. I liked the show because it was lighthearted and fun. On the other hand I’m kind of glad it got cancelled because I didn’t like the way some of the storylines were going. Jack and Paul were both likable characters (and both gorgeous) so I was going to be disappointed with whatever choice Olivia made. I also felt that the relationship between Justine and Luke was a bit boring, plus why would she stay with a guy who doesn’t… Read more »
So disappointed Cedar Cove was cancelled , looked forward to season 4 since we were left hanging. Love the cast and Debbie Macomber hope you’ll reconsider and bring it back.
I just finished watching the last episode and to just leave us hanging is not fair! I agree with other fans…at least wrap it with a finale OR BRING IT BACK!! I loved this show!!
Just adding my 2 cents worth to say it stinks. It was the ONE show I really enjoyed watching the past 3 summers. I watch very little tv because there really is not much on worth watching. This was THE one show I could count on to enjoy. Obviously it’s too late for you to do anything about it. All the cast has gone their separate ways by now. BAD CHOICE Hallmark.
Please bring Cedar Cove back very bad decision leaving the storyline hanging like that
