Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I’m so disappointed! I’ve been waiting and waiting for the new season to start and finally decided to google it. I chose my service provider because it offered the hallmark channel. Now I may have to rethink that. Cedar cove was my favorite hallmark show.
Absolutely disappointed in Hallmark for canceling Cedar Cove. Looked forward to the show every season not only for the actors, (who were picked so well for their parts), but for the wholesomeness, problem solving relationships, and wonderful story in such a beautiful setting.
Suppose it will be replaced by YET ANOTHER violent program!!!!!
PLEASE AT LEAST GIVE US A FINALE INSTEAD OF JUST DROPPING THE SHOW WITHOUT A CONCLUSION!!!!!
So very disappointed that Hallmark cancelled this show. We have watched every episode for 3 seasons and were waiting for season 4. Probably won’t watch Hallmark anymore.
Really sad that the show was cancelled. It was such a heartfelt show with wonderful characters and beautiful scenery. It is the type of show that isn’t on TV enough these days. It was a positive and well written show with a cast you loved and felt for.
I REALLY would like to see the series continue…you are correct….too many unanswered questions and it sure was a treat to have something decent to watch. I sure hope another network or streaming company will pick this up again. The cast is outstanding!
Loved this show. Didn’t realize it was cancelled.
They could at least wrap it up with a movie or mini series. Totally bummed about this.
It is the least they could do. For sure!!
Hungarian viewers also welcome season 4. Finally a film for leisure and pleasure.
I am so disappointed that there will not be a season 4 of this show and that you didn’t add this show to your Feeln Hallmark service I belong to. Just found it on Netflix and watched all 3 seasons was looking forward to find out how it all ended.. So not cool.. Now going to have to go by the books and read them just to find out how it ends.. This sucks big time. You should be ashamed of yourself s.
The good news is you will LOVE the books! They are amazing as are all of her books!
It is so difficult to find good clean tv shows today. I really hope Hallmark will recinsider there stance on Cedar Cover series. I recently discovered the series on Netflix and couldn’t wait to begin watching season 4 on Hallmark channel. I know that tv shows need to make money. Good, clean entertainment is important too. There really didn’t seem to be much out there to promote the show. Please reconsider!
I’ve been looking forward to watching new season of Cedar Cove since watching the very last epidode which I thought was only the season final. Not the ” final episode”. I’ve been waiting and getting so excited as time grows near for new season. What a let-down and shock to learn its been cancelled. Hallmark at least owes us an ending. I see Hallmark Channel ratings dropping.
WHAT??? Well no season four… What a bummer!
This was such a wonderful series about family, love, life. The setting, storyline and acting provided so much pleasure for so many people. Please, please continue the series, if only to tie up all the stories.
I read all the books and am so disappointed that it was cancelled. Hallmark should at least air one more show this year to put an end to question as to who the judge marries. The last show in 2015 was not a finale!!!
I am more than disappointed Cedar Cove will not be returning to Hallmark. It was such a great family show and had something entertaining for everyone. To leave the viewers hanging with all the unanswered questions from the last show is ridiculous. More than likely it will be replaced with a nonsensical sitcom or something to do witches or warlocks instead of the kind of show Hallmark is supposed to stand for. I look to Hallmark for well written entertaining family shows and to have Cedar Cove cancelled is beyond my understanding.
