Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Personally, I definitely enjoyed the show and am reading the Cedar Cove novels by Debbie Macomber. Sorry to see the series dropped.
I’m saddened to learn that there will be no season four. Loved watching Cedar Cove.
It’s absolutely ridiculous to cancel cedar cove. ….it was a fantastic show and please please bring it back
I am very disappointed that there is no more Cedar Cove. Please continue the series.
I loved this series. It was truly a wholesome show that I looked forward to each week. The story was good, everything about this series was real life circumstances that most could relate to. I hope Hallmark will reconsider and bring back the series.
So sad to see Cedar Cove end. Great series that was funny, interesting, engaging, and just good clean entertainment. Series should not have been cancelled. Bring it back…please?????
Sorry to see Cedar Cove end. It was so refreshing to have a show without all the ,sex scenes and drugs! I never had to worry about children walking in the room and rearing what they would hear or see. Please reconsider bringing it back.
I have really enjoyed this series a great deal. Loved the scenery, enjoyed the characters and really seems very sad to have so many open-ended questions dangle and not at least close up a few in a final season. I so respect Hallmark and this just left me feeling very sad, to not know how things might have turned out. BTW, I was rooting for Paul~
How sad for us fans to have had such a lovely show like Cedar Cove to watch and then to have Hallmark cancel it without giving fans the proper ending we deserve. Hallmark really needs to step up and at least end the series by closing out the storyline on all characters specifically on the relationship between Olivia and Jack who are the heart of Cedar Cove. I really hope Hallmark reconsiders and returns with a Fourth Season and gives the show, the cast, the fans and the brilliant author, Debbie Macomber, who created these wonderful characters, an ending that… Read more »
Very disappointed to hear Cedar Cove has been cancelled. I’ve read the book series and was anxious to see this charming story played out with real life actors.
So sad Cedar cove ends at season 3! 🙁
We love the characters! And the home town feel! Moon is the wise grandpa, and Bob & Peggy are the pillars of the town that everyone admires. And I can go on!
Of course the town would not be the same without Olivia and Grace and their children.
We are dying to know what happens with Olivia and Paul.
Please give is closure!!! 🙂 Bring back cedar cove!
Super sad that the show was cancelled. It was my favorite show and the characters were so believable… you wanted to be a part of their world and live in Cedar Cove. It’s one of those “feel good” series that should NOT have been cancelled. Please bring it back!!!!
I hate to see h ok cancelled this show without showing an ending . please rethink this decision. It was a bad decision on your part for us fans of this show.
My wife and I loved the show, but at 71 I have been around long enough to understand that whether or not the public enjoys a show has nothing to do with whether or not it is continued. If you are looking for my idea of why it was cancelled, you are expecting me to supply a logical reason to an illogical decision. I think I will pass
I really loved this show. I am so disappointed that it has been cancelled. There should be a wrap up session to let us know how the story line ends at least.
