Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I can’t believe that Cedar Cove was cancelled! It was such a great show! I really wish they would reconsider continuing with season 4 or like others have said at least one last episode to finish the story lines that are unfinished!
Our family is so disappointed that Cedar Cove is not returning. My wish is that Hallmark will listen to its viewers and if nothing else make a movie to finish the story and give the show the closure it deserves. It is such a beautifully done series I think the shoe it’s cast and its viewers deserve a beautiful ending not just dropped with no answers. Please consider making a movie.
I just got through watching season 3 of Cedar Cove on Netflix. Cable TV and Satellite are so expensive so we rely on Netflix for TV entertainment. This is probably why the viewer percentage dropped. I love this show and am dad that Hallmark cancelled it out of the blue. I hope Netflix picks up the show with the same characters.

It was always so hard to find it every season it was not promoted or advertised plus hard to find on demand so I want it back please
So sad to have this (mostly) wholesome series cancelled. I mean, come on, at least have the courtesy to finish the story lines out!
I truly enjoyed reading the Cedar Cove books and was thrilled when the Hallmark TV series came out. I am so saddened that such terrific programming was cancelled because ratings went down season over season. Shame on you, Hallmark, for disappointing so many viewers. No loyal to to your viewers??? Likewise, no loyalty to Hallmark from your viewers.

I am so disappointed! My husband and I loved the series and are sorry to hear that it has been cancelled. We were watching it on Netflix. The characters were awesome. There are many unanswered questions and this left us in suspense. Why was it not continued?
Loved the show!! Don’t have cable. My husband and I binge watched all of series 1-3 on Netflix in one weekend while the kids were away. We were recovering from a very stressful couple months. It was such a wonderful show. But now I wish I had researched it before I invested myself in it. No Season 4, really??? At least give us one long final show that wraps up the loose ends. I’m so disappointed on hearing the cancellation of Cedar Cove. Hallmark is really disappointing me lately. They could have at least did a 2 hour special & end things for all the fans that love the show. It was nice to watch a show without bad language and not have “reality” attached to it. This is the second mistake Hallmark had made recently. The first replacing Christina Ferrare from Home & Family. Hope Hallmark thinks twice about doing anymore stupid stuff
I’ve been waiting for Cedar Cove to return this summer only to just find out it’s been cancelled. I’m so disappointed!! I pay extra for Hallmark, and good shows are being cancelled while the filth on other networks continue. Wish there would have been some warning. The past season ended with so many storylines unfinished, so now we’ll never now. I fear what’s next?? Will When Call The Heart get cut too??
I am disappointed that Cedar Cove is being cancelled without at least a 2 hour show to tie up loose ends. My feeling is if the storyline had stuck closer to the actual book, it would have been a better series. That said, I did enjoy many of the characters portrayed.
I agree with you Debbie. Hallmark deviated from the original books. You don’t fix something that isn’t broken. I had decided not to watch it anymore anyway since it changed. I know how it all ends by reading The authors series.
I am so sad that there will be no season 4. I just binge watch this show on Netflix this past 3 days! I loved it. Maybe Netflix can film season 4!
I am extremely upset you canceled yet again another great show. More and more great shows get canceled every day. Then you leave them with these huge endings with all these questions and no answers. All with no heads up your canceling the show either. You are going to make people stop watch anything in your channel if you just give up and cancel every show you start. It’s called do your job and finish a show for once.
