Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I just discovered the series on Netflix. I’m so disappointed it won’t be coming back!
My moms favorite series she’s going to be so upset not coming back !!!!
I’m so disappointed that Cedar Cove is not returning. I absolutely loved that series!!!! I’m bummed now.
Cedar Cove was just the kind of wholesome TV show America needs. It’s so nice to watch a show where there are no murders, no pedophiles and none of the hatred and senseless violence we see on the news every night. I’m not interested in watching vampires, bombings or 50 Shades of Anything. It’s discouraging to hear that these characters I’ve grown to care about will not be back. I liked Cedar Cove with its unique community of characters and small-town friendliness, the people who cared about each other and lived by values we all should follow. Small town America… Read more »
I so agree with DebZ. Very disappointed!!
I really enjoyed CC. I am really disappointed that they canceled it. I hope they reconsider.
I am so disappointed! I looked forward to the summer when I could watch this great series. I think this is a shame…you had a winner….why quit? Makes no sense to me.
I agree with Barbara….come one folks. I just saw the end of season 3 on Netflix and could not wait to see season 4 to find out who Olivia chooses. Then I saw this…”cancelled”. So how about it….a 2hr movie special tying up those loose ends????

My mom & I love cedar cove! My sister in law told me about it! Please bring it back. Leaving us with questions isn’t cool. Would love to know what happens next… Pleeeease.
I am so disappointed with the Hallmark channel that there are no words to begin to describe it. Just the echos of so many others who have expressed the very same thing. This is second rate broadcasting. You knew you had a great thing going even though the viewer numbers had decreased some. Commitment to greatness in broadcaster responsibility should have dictated a final show to wrap up the series. It will be very hard for me to ever get caught up in a Hallmark series again, only to be disappointed with the same irresponsible ending with yet another mid-story… Read more »
Yes please finish the series. Ths is crazy!!
I love Cedar Cove…the stories, the characters – especially the new DA and where that story might have gone!!! So disappointed.
If Hallmark does not feel that the ratings are sufficient to sponsor another season of Cedar Cove, I think they should as least produce a two-hour special to answer all those questions they left hanging.
They should have at least been given the opportunity to write a final season so thatthat could tie up all the answers.
I really looked forward to this show. One of the few I enjoyed.
