Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

This is so horrible!!! My whole family loves watching Cedar Cove, and were incredibly disappointed that there will not be anymore seasons. This was such a fantastic show for all of us to enjoy! My ten year old daughter loved watching with me, and I haven’t broken the news to her yet that this is it…I know she’ll be devastated. Please, please reconsider. We would love to see many more episodes and seasons of our beloved Cedar Cove.

I am very disappointed and sad to see that this show has been cancelled. We as viewers have grown to love each one of the characters in Cedar Cove and it is like losing your family. Please reconsider bringing it back and finishing the show so that we can all have closure. This is too much of a shock to all of us.
I know I will NOT invest my time following any more of your weekly series any more! You are not the big time! You could have a short season to finish up story lines! Bad, very bad production management!

I am extremely disappointed that Cedar Cove is not returning. I look forward to its return each season with great anticipation. Debbie Macomber is one of my favorite authors and the story line was brilliant and so believable. I felt as if I knew each character personally.
Any chance of a Cedar Cove one-off movie special? Then at least we fans could know what happens with the characters and get some closure. This really was such a special TV series and I’m very sorry to hear it has been cancelled.
This series is so good everyone in the family enjoys it even the husbands! If it dropped below 1 million maybe please reconsider!
