Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I am so very disappointed that Cedar Cove is not returning. I loved watching this every Saturday night. I have been anxiously awaiting season 4 to start and just found out they cancelled the series. How fair is it to all of your loyal viewers to at least not leave us all hanging ??? We deserve to have a series finale. Please please bring Cedar Cove back. Your biggest fan ❤️

How rotten of Hallmark. Bringing the characters of Cedar Cove into our homes and just when you couldn’t wait for the next season it was cancelled. Horrible trick.

I’m furious!! Every channel gets you involved in a show and then cancels worth no conclusion. You’re left hanging. I’m sick getting involved in a series to be left hanging by these greedy networks. I will no longer watch any series or networks. Anazonhasgreat offers. Or renting movies. You don’t care about the people who pay for you to have a job. I’m done.
I’m echoing the feelings of previous posters.. really started to know the characters and get involved.. looking forward to the next season and wham! They just kill it… disappear them like they never existed.. leave you hanging.. and although it’s not perfect it had a much better level of morals than most shows out there… sad and sorry Hallmark! It makes you wonder about putting forth the effort to get involved in a series when it may never even finish. Over a million and a half viewers is not small potatoes!
Just watched all 3 seasons on NetFlix and loved it. Looked to see when season 4 would begin and am so disappointed to see it is cancelled. Need to have more to answer the unanswered questions!
