Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I was looking forward to Season 4. I feel you should at least give closure to this series. Please give us a final chapter in this series.
Very disappointed to hear that Cedar Cove,is not coming back. Please reconsider or at least do a movie that ties up loose ends.
Very sad to hear that Ceder Cove is not having a 4th season. I have enjoyed it so much and was such a relaxing show amidst all the other dramas that are being shown. It was a breath of fresh air. A 4th season to tie things up would have been great. Now we are all disappointed, this show will be missed.
This is one of my favorite shows. Its engaging and entertaining. I was looking forward to the 4th season only to find out the show is canceled. I am very disappointed. Why can’t shows like this continue to air? 1.67 million viewers is a lot of viewers!
I am very disappointed that Cedar Cove is not returning for season 4. I have been waiting all year for its return. We have been left hanging by Hallmark. Unconscionable!
I think Cedar Cove should have returned for a 4th season. I thought the show was filled with lots of interesting story lines that left me wanting the next show right away. America needs shows that are clean and not filled with scenes that wouldn’t be appropriate for family viewing that includes children.
I’m disappointed! I have enjoyed and looked forward to each episode. Please bring back Cedar Cove!
I just finished viewing all 3 seasons of Cedar Cove for the first time, and found it absolutely stunning and engaging in every way,.for anyone who enjoys this kind of content and “soap drama.” I am not a soap opera fan, but this whole series was so emotionally rich, with a diversity of characters, and an ease of storytelling that just flowed onto the screen seamlessly. Debbie Macomber’s book characters were transformed by an incredible cast that . brought the intricacies of a small community living in an idyllic cove to life. Kudos to the stellar family of actors and… Read more »
I was surprised and saddened to read that Cedar Cove was cancelled. It was always a bright spot to watch it during the mid summer. A refreshing show such as this one is rare to find. It will be missed.
I think we all dream of a Cedar Cove to move to! Even with the modest drop in ratings CC had a solid audience and could easily have sailed on for 2 more seasons with some energetic scripts! Casting was spot on, cast meshed well together and knew what they were doing and that cove stole every scene! We are a generous audience, so yeah we forgive you Hallmark but give this show the street cred it deserves and get Andie & cast the s. 4 e.1 script in hand as soon as you finish reading this. Seriously I need… Read more »
Please bring back Cedar Cove… Loved it!
I loved cedar cove. I looked forward to watching it every summer. I’m sad there wont be a season 4. You can’t leave the fans with so many unanswered storylines
I can’t believe you’ve canceled Cedar Cove is one of your best scripted TV program. I was really looking forward to the new season. Your series are so spread out, that we don’t get seasons like other channels. Please reconsider your position on canceling the season 4. Cedar Cove is one of the best series, I t ls one program the whole family can watch together, without shooting, violence and bad language, sexual references. Hallmark is truly a Family Channel. I vote to bring back Cedar Cove and to continue the story, or a few episodes to give the characters closure.… Read more »
I really am bummed that there’ll be no Season 4. I LOVED this wholesome series and was especially interested in the answer Olivia would have given to poor ole’ Paul.(The last scene of season 3). And, it was just such a wonderful show. Shame on Hallmark for canceling it. At least maybe they could do a 1 or 2 show addition to wrap up on the main characters.
I agree; all these networks care about is ratings and the almighty dollar! That said, I am disappointed as well that the producers totally ignored the stories Debbie wrote in her books. I read all 12 novels and think there were plenty of good story lines, drama and romance without changing everything she wrote! The only thing they didn’t change were the names of the characters! Practically everything else was fabricated and way too complicated. For example, Grace and Dan had two daughters and Dan committed suicide. He went missing and it took awhile to find him. And Justine did… Read more »
Please reconsider and bring back Cedar Cove. Even my husband likes the show.
