Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Love Cedar Cove . Very, very disappointed that there is not going to be a season four. PLEASE PLEASE re-think your decision on this. Love this show.
I love Cedar Cove! Very disappointed! you could at least give us an ending.
Very Disappointed…………..There was finally something wholesome to watch.
I just found out that Cedars Cove was cancelled. I am very disappointed! The first wholesome show on TV is a very long time – Hallmark needs to think again on this one….
Very disappointed that this great show was cancelled. How refreshing to see a show with no profanity, no nudity, and yet thoroughly entertaining. Also, if it has to be cancelled, I do wish we the viewers could have had a “wrap up “.
I really enjoyed watching Cedar Cove on Netflix. Very sad it’s been cancelled. Was very much looking forward to season four. It was such an interesting program and family friendly. Would watch it again if it returned.
I loved Cedar Cove , hallmark is always cancelling good shows .
I am disappointed, REALLY liked and looked forward to watching this series. Hopefully it returns because it is one of the few that I follow and enjoy.
Seems that 1.67 million fans are really disappointed. At least do a 2 or 3 part finale resolving some issues. Downton Abbey managed to do that.
Amount of viewers for Cedar Conve probably diminished because we already know good things dont last so we dont get too excited to avoid dissappointment. We already predicted Hallmarks unannounced, sudden, and inconclusive endings of great series. Shame on you. Our only consolation is we have McCombers books and we DONT NEED YOU, Hallmark! I plan to watch it again on Netflix no thanks to you.
We discovered this show on Netflix because we don’t have Hallmark. We loved it and were very dissapointed to see it canceled. It’s so hard to see a nice family show nowadays.
We are very disappointed that you have canceled Ceder Cove. I wrote a long comment and it seemed to have gotten lost, so I will try again. We are in our 70’s and we started watching Ceder Cove on TV when it was a series. Now we have been watching Ceder Cove on Netflix. I can not except or believe that you canceled this good series. We Never, Never had to worry about profanity or indecent exposure. We have fallen in love with the characters. These series are more like a real family. This is the way real people really… Read more »
I just finished Seasin Three. I LOVE Cedar Cove. Very disappointed there will not be a season four. If no season four it would be nice to conclude the stories.
Very disappointed!! Enjoyed the story line and my daughters and I looked forward to hang together and eat popcorn and watch.
Like most series television cancel a series without closing story lines. For once it would be nice a TV series would close out stories, due a two movie or something to finish on a good note.
Are you kidding me Hallmark!!! The least you could have done was make a series finale episode. I look forward to this series every summer and again I think the least they could have been done was to make a series finale episode. Come on!!
