Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Well, darn. Here it is July and I was looking forward to watching Cedar Cove. I watch so little TV.
I loved this show. very disappointed it was cancelled
That’s ridiculous to cancel a show with unanswered questions!! Why did they not end it at season three. Shows do this all the time and it does not do this channel any good for their ratings!! I also hope since comments have been made that Hallmark takes note! Unreal!!!
Please have a 2 hour movie to wrap series up.
Please!!!! Please bring back Cedar Cove !!!! We LOVE this movie and reeallyy!!!! Want season 4 !! 5,6,7,8,9,10, !!!! Etc. PLEASE!!! Bring this back !!!
Bring Cedar Cove back!!! At least a 2 hour special to show a good ending. Not fair to leave viewers hanging.
Too bad. I enjoyed the series. Decent tv for a change.
I can’t believe it got cancelled! Every series a network has that is wholesome, with moral values and integrity (of which this world lacks) seems to get cancelled! Cedar Cove was my look forward to tv story on the weekend. Shame-shame Hallmark Network!!
Very poor move on Hallmarks part. They finally get a TV show that doesn’t involve hate and killing or zombies and it gets canceled. In a 24/7 world where we see Trump all day long, it has been nice to shows like this that had a good story and mostly happy endings.
Does Hallmark even SEE these comments?
I hope so.
Please continue “Cedar Cove.” It was a wonderful show–great story, great characters and great setting. We need at least a Season #4 to wrap things up.
(Paul is so much better suited for Olivia than Jack was !). .I don’t know what “polls” the Hallmark Channel is relying on, but I thought this was their best program ever ! Bring it back. I was looking forward to my “vacation” in Cedar Cove this summer. I’m so disappointed about its cancellation!
LOVE CEDAR COVE!!! Would love to see more seasons. At the very least a few more episodes or movies to wrap things up. I have never commented on a show before but Cedar Cove was well written but more importantly well acted. I enjoyed each character no matter how hard it was sometimes to do so….. The actors showed the complexity of their character and drew you into their life. The show could be watched by the entire family and still had a terrific story. I watch the other shows Hallmark plays and was also going to watch the new… Read more »
Bring it back! Such a great show!
I loved cedar cove .what a great family show. I hope you have a cedar cove movie to wrap up things.
I don’t typically comment on these things or online. But I felt very compelled to do so. I watched Season 3, at least 6 times because it was the best season yet of Cedar Cove. I invested so much time into Olivia Lockheart’s character and loved her. I loved her even more when Paul showed up into her life and bought this lightness and joy that I had not seen her have with Jack. When Paul first showed up in those awful blue socks til he finally confessed, “I want you.” I was so pulled in that I kept checking… Read more »
