Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I will miss viewing it. It was a light, easy watch full of fashion, character and a beautiful quaint town. In these hard times it was refreshing to watch. It is very popular on netflix, wish you would reconsider.
Sincerely Sharon
Will really miss it!!!!!!
Just finished watching the sneak peek for “Chesapeke Bay,” and it looks like something I would really like. Then, I checked on one of my favorite Hallmark series, “Cedar Cove.” To my shock, it’s been canceled! No closure for fans means I won’t be taking a chance on any other Hallmark series. There’s no point in becoming vested in a series that might be cancelled without giving viewers an opportunity to have some sort of resolution.
I cannot believe Hallmark would cancel such a beautiful series. We wait every summer for it to air. Such a disapointment.
I really enjoyed this show. I already had my TV set up to record each episode of season 4 so I wouldn’t miss anything
I have been waiting for it to come back. It was my summer indulgence…I’m incredibly sad
What a mistake it was.to cancel one of the best shows.Hallmark has ever shown.
Very disappointing.
I just found the announcement of the cancellation of Cedar Cove? Why, why, why? I don’t see any reason in the statement. Don’t we as fans deserve an explanation???? I loved that show. There is so much unacceptable on tv, why take away something that was good and decent?
I love Cedar Cove and can’t believe it’s been cancelled. There is very little on TV worth watching and this was one of the best. Please bring it back or as some have suggested, have a movie to answer all the questions and finalize it. Thanks
I was VERY disappointed U did not continue this series. I read all of the books and will read Debbie M’s books as long as ahe writes!!
I absolutely LOVED this show! Due to circumstances beyond my control I couldn’t watch the last 2 seasons until they came on Netflix. I sat up & binge watched them until 6am & just finished watching the rest to find out after the season 3 finale that it had been cancelled!! The ratings don’t account for the people that DVR the shows & watch at a later time due to work, life etc. Otherwise I’m sure there are the same amount of people watching it as the 1st season!!! BRING IT BACK please!!! I’m not sure they even see these… Read more »
I have really enjoyed watching Cedar Cove. It’s a shame such a wonderful show as this, is not renewing and not coming back. Despite the ratings, there are a lot of fans of this show, wishing it to not end. There should be one last show to have Cedar Cove come to a complete end. That will satisfy all fans that loved this show as well as myself. I will miss watching it. Thank you.
I loved the show. Sorry to see it go.
I really enjoyed Cedar Cove. It is a nice change to the violent shows on t.v. I watched it on Net Flix and was disappointed to realize it was cancelled. It is a shame.
Cedar cove was my favorite show. Why??
