Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I just discovered Cedar Cove last week on Netflix. Went on a Cedar Cove Marathon and am in shock there is no Season 4. Bring it back
My husband and I did the same thing, Karen… Bummed to say the least. So tonight, we watched American Pickers instead. Fun show!
Hallmark used to mean quality. The decisions the ” suits” are making really stink. Canceling Cedar Cove & letting Cristina Ferrare go from Home & Family Show with no notice is totally unacceptable. Give the viewers another season 4 & Cristina a farewell party. It’s high time to boycott Hallmark shows since they do not respect their viewers @ all. And Christmas movies n July?!? Get real.
I loved this show and am so disappointed that it is no longer here! It was my go-to show when the rest of the news/shows were upsetting. I could watch this before bed and just sleep better. I really wish they would have had at least one last episode to eliminate the cliffhangers. I loved the characters and felt as if they were family. I miss them.
One of the very few shows I’ve looked forward to in a while!! So nice to see good clean entertainment!! Just a feel good show!! Please ,at least , give it the decent finale we followers deserve!
So disappointed that cedar cove has been dropped!! There really aren’t many shows on tv right now that I can say I really like or look forward to.. But this one I did! So many shows are so much alike.. This show just made your heart smile… Please, at least, bring it back for the decent ending it deserves!!
It will be a long time before I invest time in a Hallmark series. I think it was inexcusable to, after 3 season, not have an ending.
Please bring Cedar Cove back, it was good, clean, entertaining TV… I am 40 and it was nice to have a show that dealt with people/characters closer to my age. I am very disappointed it has been cancelled
Cedar Cove was quality programming…clean, entertaining, uplifting. It called you to a higher standard of entertainment. Can you at least close out and not leave us hanging? Would be totally okay to drop the Good Witch and keep Cedar Cove. This show was the only reason I kept cable, so now Xfinity is about to lose out also.
Very disappointed that Cedar Cove is cancelled. I appreciated a show more geared around my age group. I wish it would come back!
Bring back cedar cove. Great show. Please bring it back.
Please bring Cedar Cove back. It was one of the very few shows that the whole family could sit down and watch without fear of seeing or hearing something untoward. Plus with Paul in the mix the story line was starting to get really good.
Really sorry to see Cedar Cove cancelled. It was so refreshing and beautiful. I loved it and really looked forward to watching. It was clean and charming. Every episode has had a strong statement of truism. Will miss it so much.
Bring Cedar Cove back for Season 4! ASAP….Great show, wonderfully fleshed out characters, loved it.
Please return Cedar Cove. I loved how everyone took time to care for one another.
What? Why did they cancel such an amazing show? There are basically no decent shows on any longer. All the filth seems to last, but when something decent comes along…. I was so looking forward to the next season. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am!! This by far is my favorite show and I looked forward to it every week. Nothing else on TV to watch now!
