Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I’m very disappointed to hear Cedar Cove is not coming back for a 4th season! Of all the series that rotate throughout the year on Hallmark, this one, and Signed, Sealed, Delivered, are my favorites. I agree with other’s comments that there were too many unanswered questions at end of season 3. Don’t leave us hanging like this Hallmark. At least have a proper finale show for all your loyal viewers!
I really liked Cedar Cove. Hallmark left a lot of unanswered questions. I think they need to return the series to give us some answers.
I am very disappointed in Hallmark as Cedar Cove was very enjoyable to watch. Please bring it back! There are many loyal fans who are missing this show.
I am very disappointed. I loved this show and was looking forward to seeing it again. Why wouldn’t Hallmark be loyal to its viewers, as we are loyal to them??? Is there any chance of bringing it back?
HALLMARK please reconsider bringing Cedar Cove back! If not could you please at least give us some closure with a surprise grand finale episode? It’s such a great series!! People could really use an uplifting, positive, and relaxing chick flick kind of show to watch with real life experiences. I like to watch it not only for the lovely characters but also for a little advice and guidance too. I’ve watched quite a bit of “R” rated series and I do like them I just don’t care enough to watch them alone. Cedar Cove is definitely my kind of show… Read more »
I am enjoying this series tremendously. I would be great to have a season 4!
We need a season 4 to have closure. I am enjoying this series tremendously. I am amazed it wasn’t immensely popular year by year. Very good story line and actors.
What a disappointment. Was worth staying in on a Saturday night to watch. Please reconsider. We finally get a good, clean show and you have to cancel.
My husband and I enjoy watching “Cedar Cove”! I wish there was more shows like this small town cdseries. We were looking forward in watching Season 4. I was getting ready to buy all “3 Seasons” but there is no need to now if there isn’t going to be a “Season 4”. I don’t need to watch the Hallmark Channel if they cancel because of a small number of viewers that don’t watch “Cedar Cove” when most of the viewers do watch the show.
Very disappointed that the Cedar Cove series has been canceled!! It has been a wonderful series and should be continued… hope Hallmark reconsiders!!!
Sincerely disappointed with Hallmark.
This was a truly enjoyable series!
It will be missed by our family.
Please being Cedar Cover back. What a wonderful show. Great characters, real life stories, and real-life solutions. I loved all 3 seasons, and will really miss it.
And we need to know about Paul!!! 🙂
Don’t give up on a good thing.
Bummer!!!!! Bring back one last season!!!!!
Very unhappy that the show was cancelled ..I agree they need to have one final show ..
Very disappointed with no season 4 of Cedar Cove. Love the Hallmark Channel; especially all their holiday offerings, but would have liked to see more of Cedar Cove. Loved the town, the sometimes dysfunctional characters (aren’t we all sometimes), and the clean, family entertainment. Come on Hallmark, reconsider your decision.
