Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Please finish with a final season!
I loved the show and characters. Please do a movie or two to finish the characters stories.
Oh wow. Can not believe it won’t be back… I have enjoyed it so much… To end it like this is such a bummer….loved getting to know the cast and stories has been such a wonderful thing for me… I wish Netflix would pick it up… So family oriented …. Should have at least tied up all the loose ends.
Could not be more disappointed – shame even Hallmark only looks at the bottom line instead of the right thing to do – as long as TV is sponsored by companies who are looking for the next big buck quality will be sacrificed – screw the TV – I am just reading the books –
Deeply saddened that Cedar Cove was canceled! It was one of my favs! Loved the scenery!
I’m so sad! I loved the books and I miss the series! Such a fun show to watch!
I found Cedar Cove on Netflix and absolutely loved it! I just searches to find out when Season 4 would been released only to learn the disappointing news that the show has ended with Season 3, Episode 11. I am very, very disappointed that this show is over. I do not have cable, so I wasn’t unable to watch this gem until July 2016. To the Executive Producers: Please consider continuing the show through Netflix; their series productions have been amazing! With the Cedar Cove series, I was taken to this lovely small town which has been such a joy… Read more »
Very disappointed to learn this series has been cancelled…..there are so many storylines that were left unfinished….just does not seem like the professional quality one would expect from Hallmark
I agree!. That’s what surprises me most about Hallmark’s decision. Sometimes it should be about more than just the numbers. This show is wonderful and deserves a proper closure.
Oh, shucks… I was soooo looking forward to Season 4. The characters in Cedar Cove are like my friends and the story line was so entertaining. Thanks, Hallmark, and Debbie Macomber, for giving us the 3 Seasons. No thanks, Hallmark, for taking it all away =(
please consider a movie to wrap up the stories we all enjoyed and invested in. thank you so much
I was looking all over for the Season 4 times and found out it was cancelled!!! Good wholesome stories about life!! Don’t know what the problem is! But it is sad!!! I have read the Cedar Cove Series and was so looking forward to Season 4. I really enjoyed seeing Debbie’s Books come alive. I’m not a “Happy Camper!!!!!!!!!!!”
Hallmark, please consider another season. It’s the professional thing to do, considering Season 3 had several story lines still in progress. I really liked this show. Thank you.
I am very disappointed that Cedar Cove was cancelled!! This was my favorite reason to turn to the Hallmark Channel…along with the Christmas movies.
I loved Cedar Cove. So disappointed it has been cancelled. Left us hanging!!
I got hooked on Netflix and was looking forward to seeing what happens on season 4! I was so disappointed to find out it was cancelled! At least have the courtesy to tie up the story lines!
